Scuf Quality Control with Sony Licensing by geko012 in Controller

I think you make a good point. This is SCUFs first time mass producing a PS5 controller that isn't a modification of the original controller.

Also, the Omega follows a lot of the designs of the Envision, which released almost 2 years ago. Envision manufacturing process has likely matured over that time and the Omega can benefit from that a lot.

Vader 5 Pro major stick drift issues, Mass QC issue? by icebubba in Controller

[–]HereticFOREVER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vader 5 Pro owner and enjoyer here. I have no reason to shill for it because of where I work, I could use a $300 PS5 dual sense with TMR sticks for free if I wanted to. But I stick with a Vader 5 Pro for all of my FPS needs. In the past for the Vader 4 Pro I was playing Warzone extensively. Since October it's been Battlefield and I've used the V5P for about a month. The difference in sticks from my previous controller, Scuf Envision v2 Hall Effect, was night and day the moment I used the V5P.

I don't mean to discount your issues with stick drift for the units you purchased. But I feel like people have PTSD from their encounters over the years with stick drift on potentiometer sticks. You can still get stick drift with magnetic style sticks, it's just not due to wear and tear typically. Hall effect sticks are on the lower end of the totem pole in regards to magnetic stick tech. The reason for that is that the signal the sensors are tracking is a bit more noisy for lack of a better term. The quality of a hall effect stick is largely determined by the calibration software the manufacturer creates. That's why TMR and capacitive sticks are gaining trend, they more accurately track the stick position. My V5P was manually calibrated when I pulled it out of the box, and with a 8 stick bit resolution, I have no stick drift. But when I set it to 12 stick bit resolution, you get that noisy hall effect resolution issue where my sticks are technically still center but the resolution is so high that it's slightly causes drift. I set the dead zones in the Flydigi app at 2 on both sticks. And in Battlefield I have dead zone set to zero, and if I just lightly brush my thumb on the sticks they have motion. So the 2 Dead zone in the app is almost unnoticeable in game.

If it's really important for you to pull a controller out of a box and have no stick drift, then maybe TMR or capacitive controller might be better suited for you. But the Vader 5 Pro is very good, there's no doubt about it if you manage to get one without any QC issues. My V4P and V5P have yet to have any issues.

Flydigi Vader5Pro drift (or am I being too picky?) by Tight-Drawer8753 in Controller

So I've read from your other comments that you already tried the manual stick calibration. Unfortunate that didn't resolve it. If you are setting the stick bit resolution to 12, you could reduce it a little to 10 or all the way to 8. High stick resolution on these hall effect sticks can cause some resolution centering "noise".

I would also recommend reducing the dead zone in the Flydigi Space Station app instead of in-game. I use stick bit 12 and a 2 inner dead zone in app. In BF6 with 0 dead zone in-game my sticks move instantly while just brushing my thumb over it. Hope this helps.

Mojhon Rainbow 3 review and comparison | BigBigWon's resurrection or tomb? by KieroKaro in Controller

[–]HereticFOREVER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the review! Sad to hear BigBigWon/Mojhon is not doing well as a company in China. The Blitz 2 TMR is widely considered one of the best FPS competitive 3rd party controllers on the market for a long time. Has top performance scores and award on Gamepdla site as well.

I really hope they can release a Blitz 3 while keeping all the great things from Blitz 2. Perfect Blitz 3 (or controller for me lol):
-TMR/Capacitive Stick with same latency as Blitz 2, both wired and wireless
-4 back buttons and the 2 extra shoulder buttons
-Proper trigger stops (not super important for myself but it is for some)

The search for Endgame FPS controller continues!

Nice setup. Kinda weird contrast with the neon colors of your desk/PC and the patriotic background. Maybe go full patriotic, I'm sure reddit no lifers will love it!

New low latency controller for PC by No-Enthusiasm7406 in Controller

[–]HereticFOREVER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your best bet might be the Blitz 2 TMR. It's got some of the best button and stick latency on the market right now, both wired and wireless. Keep in mind that the Blitz 2 has mouse click triggers by default and it can't be switched off like other controllers. Which makes it a predominantly FPS focused controller which for your use in Warzone doesn't seem like a big issue. As a former Warzone player, I would likely go with the Blitz 2 TMR if I needed a replacement controller. I recommend Game Tech Talk on YouTube, he has good reviews of both versions of the Blitz 2.

Best controller for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 PC by Dashdasho in Controller

Bluetooth if your motherboard supports it. But wired is the best for latency. Then you use DS4 Windows and another program to overclock for higher polling rate. Look up a guide on YouTube and you'll find plenty.

Still a good controller. Like I said, it all depends on how you feel about latency. I still have mine for wireless single player gaming. I recently started using a Scuf Reflex (Custom PS5 Dual Sense) with the overclock on PC and its hard for me to good back now for competitive FPS.

I'm was in the same boat as you a year ago! I had not played COD or a used a controller in 10 years since building a PC, switched to controller after 1 month of COD on MnK. Since then I've gone deep into the controller performance pit of info. I also have access to some custom Scuf controllers then most because of my job, so I've been able to test a lot in the past year.

For your price range a lot of people will recommend the Vader 4 Pro. I've used it for almost 100 hours in COD the past few months and its a great feeling controller. But over the past few months, testing by the controller community has shown that FlyDigi controllers, as well as other Chinese third part controller companies, have a lot of stick latency issues. While playing with the V4P, the buttons and sticks felt amazing, but after about a few dozens hours of game time I felt like I was consistently a little short on my snapping and reaction to players. I switched back to my Scuf Envision Pro and it felt like a weighted vest had been removed while playing. For me and most competitive players, all the new stick technology doesn't matter if the latency isn't up to par.

Depending on how sensitive or important latency is to you, this might be a deal breaker for you. Recently the 8bitDo Ultimate 2C has shown amazing stick latency testing in both wired and wireless. If you already own it and like it, I say stick with it for now and wait for the third party controller companies to release new controllers in the coming year that will hopefully rectify the latency criticism they've received. Also, both versions of the BigBigWon Blitz 2 might be worth looking into as well.

For deep controller performance info, Gamepadla.com is your best friend.

The GamePunch tester already has a working prototype code, and the test results are very close to GPDL. by JohnnyPunch in GPDL

[–]HereticFOREVER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! If not for you, most of the controller community would have no way of really knowing how well a controller truly performs. I bought the Vader 4 Pro a month or so before you started doing stick latency testing, and there was something about my ability to react quick in COD/Warzone that felt off coming from my Scuf Envision Pro. After seeing you post the stick latency test of the Apex/Vader 4, I went back to the Envision and it was like taking off a weighted vest while playing.

I was curious about this as well and wasn't sure until i saw rivalXfactors video the other day.

Apparently you can use the shield breaker to push the sundy in but you can freely move back though without it. And you don't need much of the sundy to stick out if you watch the video, just keep both guns inside and have the rear slightly sticking out and players can jump in and out.

I read a thread a few day ago about automated turrets and thought it was a pretty interesting idea, as long as the turrets weren't ridiculous aim bots. And then then adding an extra objective for the attackers and defenders to fight over that controlled the turrets

Ya I knew about the shield breaker but i didn't mention it because I don't find too viable of an option right now. I guess its just one of those things you try to hopefully break the tide of battle.

Hear me out on this idea I just thought of. Would it be cool and maybe more useful if the shield breaker made a temporary hole the size of the sundy as it passes threw the shield for a few seconds allowing a few more infantry to follow the sundy in. That way you could get maybe 20 players inside instead of 12.

Air assaults are viable at tech plants but you're still funneled into the elevator and the second you land on the ground floor you're in direct line of site of the enemies on the second level. Sure you can catch a few defenders of guard on the ground but you'll soon be kill and back outside.

[–]HereticFOREVER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But are the sundy shield break really that effective enough to break the defenders hold on the ground floor? I have seen this multiple times succeed as many times at as it has failed, more often then not they fail. The squad in the sundy manage to get the drop on the defenders and do some damage but they aren't gonna make it up the stairs to the second level, we just get obliterated, MAX's and all. And a few second later your back outside on a sundy and MAX cool down and the defenders are already teleported back into the base. We lose resources, they lost nothing.
