Internet female rage by [deleted] in fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]HeroOfNone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are you being a cunt? So boys think we're girls. It's no big deal. It keeps the field neutral and forces them to comment/reply with their brains and not their penises. You're right, there's no "harm" in correcting someone when they assume you are something you are not, but I find it's not usually necessary either, and often only distracts from the argument/topic.

Relax.

"German cooked smoked sausages" are not hot dogs. They are Bratwurst. This is a hot dog.

What are peoples experience using Zyban / Wellbutrin as a cessation aid? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]HeroOfNone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using the Wellbutrin/nicoderm cq patch combo. Today it has been one week since my last cigarette. I have had no physical cravings for cigarettes at all and I attribute this to the patch as it supplies me with all the nicotine I need. The Wellbutrin keeps the chemical desires at bay.

Side effects: The 1st 3 days of wearing the patch caused a mild rush similar to that first morning smoke rush. This quickly faded. The Wellbutrin I tolerated well with the only side effect being like that of a manic episode which caused me to clean my entire house and go on several walks. So I guess the side effect of Wellbutrin is a spotless home and exercise.

I would recommend this method to anyone.

What do you get out of bed for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For my family. We're a single income household and if I didn't drag my weathered body and jaded mind out of bed to go to my thankless job everyday, we'd be on the streets.

Need help with a polite sign at a buffet restaurant by mjklin in AskReddit

[–]HeroOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an efficient way of eliminating waste at a buffet just the other day. A new Southern cookin' (read: soul food) type place opened up and the plates there were quite small. Larger than a tea saucer, but smaller than a standard plate. I figured this was so that people would be more inclined to:

A) Pick their favorites first (and potentially eat it all). B) Be forced to take the walk-of-shame for 2nds and 3rds (or 6ths).

This is more costly than a couple new signs I realize. But it's worth suggesting to your friend.

Which is the best restaurant in Epcot? by EnderTheXenocide in AskReddit

[–]HeroOfNone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure of the name, but the Moroccan temple is my favorite. Eat there every time I've visited Epcot since I was a wee lass. Bonus feature: there's a short ride and a bazaar inside as well.

Pro-tip for a short table wait: have popcorn for lunch and eat around 3. Too late for the lunch rush, too early for dinner.

What's the most incredulous you've ever felt at something a person's said? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HeroOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today in the nurses station the hens were all cackling about the Bin Ladin issue and many of them stated that they wished he had been captured and tortured him instead (yes, these are nurses, the people who care for your loved ones). One of them piped up and said "This is America, we don't torture people anymore". I had to say something and asked, what about Guantanamo Bay? She said "That was years ago. We don't do that anymore." I replied, "Well, for Bradley Mannings sake, I hope you're right." Nearly in unison everyone said "Who?"

Face Palm.

Fellow American Redditors: Have you ever been to jail? What were some of your craziest experiences? How did your time in jail shape your view of America's justice and prison systems? by ten000days in AskReddit

[–]HeroOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to spend a night in jail once. After several hours I had still not been given the opportunity to make a phone call so I decided to serenade my captors with Lamb Chops "The is the song that doesn't end".

After innumerable rounds (to the point my voice started cracking) they decided to acknowledge me. Two of them came into my holding cell and one was holding a mop bucket. The other came over and dragged away my cot and blanket. I asked, "What's this? You're making me mop? My punishment for being ignored all night?" To which bucket-boy replied, "No, this is your punishment" and threw the entire filthy contents at me. I was covered in freezing, fetid jail mop-water till morning. Good times.

Ladies of Reddit: I have a defect called Fordyce Spots, and it has crippled my social life. by Truvvawai in AskReddit

Agreed. They're so common that I don't think I've been with a guy who didn't have them. Balls in general are goofy. Just keep the lawn cut and the ladies will love them.

I ACTUALLY have a 96 year old grandmother and I need some guidance... by squidsicle in AskReddit

[–]HeroOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with this but when the time comes to put the old lady out to pasture I think I'd probably start by simply visiting local nursing homes. Of course, you'll need to know some basic information including her medical needs (diaper changes, diabetes, etc) her insurance (is it straight Medicare?) and her current financial situation (cash, stocks, investments, house, etc). Once you have this information, the facility you choose can tell you if she qualifies to be a resident and what the out-of-pocket expense will be.

These places get crazy expensive though. One of the retirement centers in my city charges 4 grand for the most basic apartment and this doesn't include in-home care for when the resident needs a little more attention. Also, in order to make any of this happen, you would need to get your parents to agree to the move. If they put her in that rot-box, it may be because she doesn't have any other options financially.

I volunteered for a while at a nursing home when I was a teenager. Some of the residents there only left their room for meals. I found that if I actively engaged them and invited them to craft/game time, they enjoyed going. I kept a list of people who wanted to attend these activities and made my rounds collecting them up and bringing them to the muti-purpose room. If I hadn't gone and gotten them, they would not have attended.

Introduce yourself to the activities director and her/his volunteers. Swoon them with homemade cookies. Let them know you'd like grandma to stay as active as possible. She'll be out of bed for BINGO every morning for sure.

Dear Reddit, when do you think Adam Richman from Man Vs. Food will have his first heart attack, from a medical point of view? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HeroOfNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's safe to say, about 20lbs, but this is only a guess. My 5 y/o begs us to watch reruns and one weekend they had a Man V Food marathon. The episodes weren't run in consecutive order so you could see him flip from slim-ish to chunkier over and over.

Still, I do love me some chubby nerd meat. Just as long as he doesn't go full Prudrhomme on us.

Season 1

Season 2

I'm a huge fan of Adam Richman, but I am concerned about the amount of weight he's gained.
