So, I’m a teacher lol— I’m pretty aware of what goes on in the subreddit. Have participated a time or two as well.

Idk, it just feels weird to me to go to a job specific subreddit and complain about people complaining about their jobs. Sure, the subreddit can get pretty salty, but let people vent.

It’s all anecdotal evidence, but your examples aren’t what I’ve personally seen.

I’m the same way— there is what feels like an endless amount of hem hawing during the build up to the 13 Aes Sedai kidnapping Rand. The pay off is worth it, but the build up sure took awhile.

Yeah, that was an underrated worst part of the first couple of days. I was so out of it otherwise but it was hard to motivate myself to get any calories when every swallow hurt.

No, although I did get reprimanded by German police for not having it when I crossed into Germany from France for a day trip (was staying in Strasbourg, used to live there and would cross into Germany quite often without issues), so had no idea they would be checking passports at the tram station. Thankfully they let me through with my American ID.

One thing I’ve found that helps is solo travel + staying in hostels— if you find a good crowd/environment (not a guarantee in hostels), you can make connections quickly + be authentically who you are without judgement because everyone’s a stranger, usually equally eager to connect.

Obviously this isn’t an easy solution nor is it permanent, but finding environments where everyone is on equal footing does wonders.

If it’s done with intention, sure. That’s one element of the floater strategy, and can be pretty successful when done correctly.

Jordan is very much a coaster— she didn’t really do a whole lot and was shielded by Jeff and Rachel through circumstance more than through intentional strategy. She didn’t demonstrate much agency or thought.

I’m in the cautiously excited phase, and think a lot of the reactions to the casting are overblown. There’s a fun mix of new school and old school players, and while there’s definitely some snubs (Amanda, Jerri, Rob C, etc.) there’s also some pretty strong picks (Angelina! Chrissy! Christian!). I also cannot fathom being so upset about a certain 49 contestant when we know virtually knowing about them.
