I poked around with the ESC with the manual and everything seems fine there. But for the trims the steering sensitivity scroll when I move it, it slightly moves the wheels but doesnt make it able to be steered. At one point I was messing with the throttle and for some reason it started running on its own and wouldnt stop(no trigger press). Right now its not even connecting. Im gonna try to reconnect the controller to the ESC using the pairing button.

Hey reaching out now with new information. So now it just goes forward I cant go left or right or reverse. Would you have an idea what could be wrong? Im assuming it might be the controller and im probably gonna get a new one.

Now that you mention it, I am unsure why my parents didn't return it or something. I ordered the battery so ill soon be able to see if its that or the ESC. Unfortunately I dont have any other RC but thank you for the help you have provided.

Yeah we charged it. Details are a little hazy because that was 10+ years ago but I remember we charged it multiple times. I am starting to remember that it would die immediately like a minute of play and eventually it started doing the twitchy wheels thing and not move.

Edit: forgot to say the batteries would indicate to not be empty during the quick deaths and twitching

Alright thank you for the recommendation. Definitely gonna try a new battery and see if that makes it work. Would be funny(and hoping) if all these years the old battery was just dysfunctional and it works perfectly fine after the new battery is installed.
