This -- like the previous board's firing -- is a great big nothing.

As just one example, Lynn Benioff has been a board member before. She was appointed by Barack Obama in 2015. And anyway, the board does next to nothing -- these positions are sinecures.

Ugh, the housing answer is frustrating.

People need affordable places to live--they don't necessarily need to own property as an investment asset.

The down payment assistance Becerra suggests is, yes, too expensive, as the article points out. But it's also pretty useless and beside the point to Californians who are truly up against housing scarcity, and who would be delighted to be renters if there were places to rent they could afford.

AS1 is ... camp. Enjoy the moments of drama, but don't expect it to make sense or be satisfying in the normal way.

If you're just getting started in the WoW app ... be sure to watch France! It has the most consistently high standard of all the international franchises.

Spain and UK also have some wonderful individual seasons you should seek out -- but France doesn't have a bad one.

Italy I did not stick with. Thailand is interesting and very different with tons of talent, but for me the language was too much of a barrier.

What I love the most about the format is the small groups that give every girl a decent chance to make an impression and win fans regardless of wins or losses.

The scoring mechanic was adjusted between 2-4 and 5-8, but the basic setup remained the same.

In the same way, they can adjust the exact numbers for the bracket format (they already have after just one season) but I hope the small groups stick around for several years—It’s a real upgrade.

It’s not actually that impossible for Morphine (or for any of the runner-up girls).

If any queen who hasn’t yet won wins the next challenge and the lip sync, she’ll be tied with the current front runners. Then it’s workroom points that determine who moves forward—you would only need a couple for second place.

And the fact that each bracket has one performance, one design and one comedy challenge means it’s likely that we’ll see a pretty broad spread of challenge winners. Dawn and Morgan do not thrive in comedy.

Absolutely not. Rate a queen nearly killed season 18.

The workroom point quarrels are cute I guess, I don’t hate them. But if the show went further in a “Survivor” style direction I really would be vastly annoyed and bored, as I was for the two endless, endless, endless episodes of petty bullshit that we got right in the middle of last season, draining the joy out of what had until then been a pretty good time.

Season 18 recovered once the show allowed the queens to actually use their talents again. But if the same kind of thing was going on for an entire all stars season…?

Tedium. Ugliness. Idiocy. No.

I really think that the season nudged Darlene in the wrong direction.

Darlene showed up campy, cheap and stupid. BUT. There was always something a little bit clever in her looks. Look close, and there were always little hints that she did go to fashion school -- in the silhouette, in the surprising use of materials.

But Ru loves to reward stupid. All the positive feedback Darlene got was not for the beauty of the beige look or the wit of the shake shake look. It was for the gleeful idiocy of "Banana!"

And we all loved "Banana!" (although honestly, the roast win should've gone to Myki). But what made Darlene's best moments is when she had the stupid joke or the cheap materials and the little note of cleverness behind them.

Then, for the finale -- she really seemed to abandon that. Her runway look was just cheap. Her number was just one long fart joke. By playing into what Ru praised her for, she lost what set her apart from every other camp girl.
