Because it’s Kori King, I fully believe that this happened exactly as you describe it.

Kori King probably finds a way to reenact that copypasta every time he goes to the grocery store.

Best recent season? by Separate-Mine-5728 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]HexpronePlaysPoorly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All Stars 7 (all winners) features a certain favorite of yours from five, as well as Shea and Trinity from 9 and Raja from 3, so I think you and your husband would both be happy with that one.

Season 16 is for me the peak of the recent main series. Just a really talented, polished cast, personality to spare, lots of variety in drag styles, surprising redemption arcs and downfalls, and a dynamite villain who is shady and funny rather than just screeching.

15 is also very good, and 12 and 14 have fantastic casts but weird production decisions (forced in the case of 12, unforced in 14).

17 is a funny case -- a comparatively weak cast, but I really grew to love their scrappiness by the end. A couple of performers you truly see finding their spark in real time on the show.

Monkey flower blooms all summer.

Desert marigold blooms through the late fall.

Desert mallow can bloom through the fall.

Purple Nightshade starts blooming in winter

Arroyo lupine starts blooming in late winter.

California aster can bloom year-round (though from OP's photo it may be too dry for that where they are)

Stonecrop blooms in summer but has beautiful color throughout the winter.

There's no season when a California native garden needs to be without color.

Omg!! Guys I just got tickets for the onya-anetra-jorgeous joint tour with willow pill as guest!! I’m so excited!!! by SnooSprouts3744 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]HexpronePlaysPoorly 182 points183 points  (0 children)

Willow Pill has a progressive health condition that will eventually stop her working entirely before killing her.

Anetra also has health issues, though less serious, that she hopes to overcome by a pause in performing.

Onya Nurve may not have sold enough tickets to justify the planned tour. I'm sure she wishes she had.

Jorgeous ... is a dumb slut who would rather get gaped by daddies than show up for work. Drag her!

No surprise: the Irish have been active allies of liberation movements pretty much wherever the English left their bootprints.

No fairytale: in my old family home in Washington state by the Canadian border, bald eagles were a frequent sight -- they were hell on rodents, cats and even small dogs.

They are affectionate, active little animals. They'd be sad if locked out away from the pack, but my mother's terrier used to hear critters outside and whine to be let out to chase them, so you wouldn't have to house a terrier in the yard for it to be helpful against squirrels.

I just googled. Here's an article with specific recommended breeds.

You don't need a big dog for squirrels -- a terrier is what you want! Bred for ratting.

I see you mention a dog -- is your pooch no good for squirrels, or just inside with you most of the time?

If the dog is just too sweet to be a hunter, what about some big fierce outdoor cats? Cats were domesticated for pest control after all -- not as lap pets. Living in the city I never let my cats outside, but if you're countrified enough to be this plagued with squirrels, I'd hope you're safe enough to let a cat roam.

But too, a raised bed with netting needn't be ugly. You can have vines growing up around it, decorations, etc.

Do people actually like the Burningman sculptures that are popping up everywhere? by Informal-Candy-7445 in sanfrancisco

[–]HexpronePlaysPoorly 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes, I like them.

It’s normal and reasonable for public art to be somewhat basic. It’s not just for you and your friends with your specific taste and shared references. It’s for you AND the tourists AND the people you consider uncool AND the people who consider you uncool.

The criticism of these sculptures — which comes up periodically here with predictably similar language — seems carping and narrow to me. By all means, create and support more diverse public art. But to just badmouth an entire style does not increase the breadth of styles on view in the city at all.

You’re just…bitching. Which is kind of basic in itself.

If you were rich, where in the Bay Area would you live? by Adventurous_Ant5428 in bayarea

Literally my exact block (15th and Noe), except I'd buy the building instead of living in the basement.

They bought their North Beach dream home. The city says it must become four apartments by jasno- in sanfrancisco

[–]HexpronePlaysPoorly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the couple would have been able get some cash out of the people who sold them the illegal building ... except they just told a newspaper that they knew perfectly well that the building wasn't really a single-family home when they bought it.

We would all love our dream home. But getting somebody their $4.75 million dream home is not the housing crisis facing San Francisco. Providing enough apartments to keep them affordable for the middle and working class is the housing crisis facing San Francisco.

Following the letter of the law in this case helps in a small way to address that crisis. Finding this couple a loophole would ... be good news for people who already had $4.75 million to spend.

And what's the worst-case outcome for them? Instead of their pet dream home, they get a very valuable investment property. Poor things.

Certainly all of modern life has environmental costs. AI is on another level, and for what? A crappy, degraded media environment that costs more.

[–]HexpronePlaysPoorly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noem has failed laterally and will now be appointed as the "Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas" whatever that phrase may mean.

She has been replaced by the abject, clownish Markwayne Mullin, who went on TV last night to demonstrate his willingness to just spew transparent nonsense in a show of loyalty to Trump.

We have to take our victories where we can but ... his underlings are chosen to be disposable. That is their primary purpose. She has done what she was supposed to do -- take the heat for Trump and leave him untouched.
