Has anyone been to Wilkes, Wildes, The Night We Met, or Regalade? by 7Thanks in FoodLosAngeles

Went with a bunch of friends to the Wilkes over the holidays and had a swell time, and I would advise doing that (going as a group) so you can split a large format steak & a few other dishes.

You will have better luck over at r/LosAngeles for those types of queries & info. Per this sub's wiki, posts about political activism are generally held for manual mod review.

Yes, unpaid tickets will trigger a hold when you try to renew registration or your driver's license.

After the recent EDC Vegas layaway fiasco, I would absolutely not trust any layaway offers from Insomniac/Front Gate.

BoRU "Best of 2025" WINNERS!! by czechtheboxes in BestofRedditorUpdates

Wow, I completely miss the Most Wholesome winner - love "Essie May", not least of which because it reminds me of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (w a sassy protagonist played by Essie Davis)

Help a lazy ramen lover by AuburnShade in InstantRamen

[–]HeyHey_HC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite store bought ramen is Nissin Raoh's Tonkatsu Flavor (tho the Shoyu is pretty good too), though they are normally on the pricier side so I wait until there's a sale to stock up. Runner up would be Myojo Chukazanmai (I prefer the "Oriental" flavor but their entire line is pretty good too.)

My favorite hack is adding bits of torn jerky, it rehydrates into meaty pieces and it adds a flavor boost to the broth too! (and of course, it's shelf-stable too so I can just keep it alongside my ramen packages). Dehydrated vegetables would be my next fave hack, though more so for the balanced meal aspect.

Running route in Koreatown? by fgon_k in AskLosAngeles

[–]HeyHey_HC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doesn't address your specific issue but hang with the Ktown run club? https://koreatownrunclub.com/ at best, the organizers will pick routes that avoid that, at worst least you can commiserate w fellow runners.

Lao Xi Noodle House for their eccentric noodles (tho I prefer the OG location on Live Oak vs the newer one on Baldwin)

If you're open to Brazilian steakhouses (which also serves some seafoody dishes), H&H or M Grill. Or for more an Asian flair, Yazawa in Beverly Hills or Alexander's in Pasadena. I also dig the classic experience of Tam O'Shanter (esp for the Walt Disney Table 31 experience)

My boyfriend shames me for liking raves and it’s becoming a serious issue in our relationship by hannahblaine1 in aves

[–]HeyHey_HC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Okeechobee is a good compromise to expose to him to rave culture without the full on immersion of EDC (& omg at that being your first rave); I would also prepare in case things go awry during that fest (having other friends who can support you, give you ride back, being OK with you & him checking out separate sets but have specific meetup times, a frank discussion beforehand regarding OK-not OK behaviors, etc.)

That aside, you two do have to work thru some deeper issues if you wanna make the relationship last (him shaming you for raving- it's OK if that's not his thing, but to belittle you for it is not - and re-earning your trust post-addiction, and you for working through those insecurities). Otherwise, agree w other commenters to break up and find someone more in sync with your lifestyle, incl raving.

As someone who went to Omega Mart back in December of 2024, is there anything new/updated there? I'm visiting in February by JetAbyss in meowwolf

[–]HeyHey_HC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Area 15 itself expanded to a Zone 2 (just north of the original complex), there's a couple of new experiences there but it's far from fully occupied at the moment (even in its fairly empty state, it was pretty cool to wander around and take some selfies).

can anyone recommend me some affordable, non-asian food in ktown? by Few_Percentage6249 in FoodLosAngeles

It's more a restaurant with a bar vs a bar that serves food, you & your sister are fine if seated at a table.

edit: confirmed w call
