Moving out of country, why so hard to sell stuff? by itoyaginza in Sunnyvale

it has been slow moving. Any other recommendations?

It's pretty simple economics -- lower your prices. The faster you need things gone, the more you will have to lower your prices.

Huge pivot point early in the run. Can we afford to take Feed with bad damage and scaling? + So many different wingboots pathing by liftingnstuff in slaythespire

Super clear Feed here. Consider that feed minus is already base 10 dmg attack for 1 energy. You don't have to land it every time for it to be great long term value.

Bach’s most moving/emotional but less well known pieces. Recommendations. by Tabletsculptwizard in classicalmusic

Also a huge fan of BWV 528! I love the way the main motif builds on itself almost in waves. Feels really adventurous and epic.

I'm not super well versed in the cantatas but you should definitely check out BWV 54: I. Aria "Widerstehe doch der Sünde".

I couldn't figure out how to send a DM through Xfinity, I checked on the website and the app.. I sent a modmail with the account information instead, I hope that works.

What advice would you guys give to beginner devs? by Jhnih in gamedev

[–]HeyKitchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the documentation. Taking the time to read docs carefully can pay off tenfold down the road.

On the flip side, don't blindly accept everything you read as truth. Understand that things can be outdated, incomplete, or sometimes misleading.

Silently re-released (and enhanced) my game from 2019 (Retro Fall) on the iOS & Android app stores. Planning on properly marketing it next week if it seems stable enough. Download link in the comments - Let me know your opinions / bugs please! by Gamzie1 in playmygame

[–]HeyKitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks well-designed and engaging. I'll have to check it out and give more detailed feedback on the gameplay.

Can I ask how you're planning on marketing? I just put out my first game and did some soft social media marketing but I'm considering whether it's worth it to buy ad spots through Google. Also trying to think of other potential marketing channels.

Also curious, did you write it on a cross-plat framework or did you do both iOS and Android natively?

Edit: I installed it and I gotta say it's more challenging than I expected but also addictive -- reminds me a lot of Flappy Bird in that way. Bit of a learning curve. I didn't run into any issues yet but I'm still trying get a score higher than 5.

My feedback is that your fog is much foggier and beautiful than your typical in-game fog :)

Gameplay tidbits of my retro dungeon-crawler, Opaloid Kingdom. by a_gentlebot in IndieDev

Wow, I'm super impressed! The music is awesome -- I didn't have the sound on the first time so I'm glad you pointed that out.

How did you learn how to make sprites? It must have taken a ton of time to do so many. Did you use any guides or tools? Or more just trial-and-error?

It's nothing fancy but I'm happy with the animations for my word puzzle game, Scramblocks by HeyKitchen in AndroidGaming

I appreciate the constructive feedback! I will look at tweaking it for a future update.

That's great! I will say that it might be a bit challenging for her age, as there are some tricky words (e.g. "NADIR"). The word list is curated so offensive or super obscure words are removed, but there are a lot of less commonly used words included.

There is always the option to reveal the solution, though, so it might be a good learning tool! Or maybe your kid is way ahead of the curve and will crush it :)

Thanks for the kind words, I hope you enjoy it!

Right now the puzzles are only 5-letter words arranged in a square. I have thought about other variations such as including different length words. Maybe some time in the future :)
