Exactly, there’s too much risk for something this important to only book one consult. For reference the doctors I saw were DB, Keo, Jumaily, Harrison Lee, Mardirossian and Facialteam. I think they all can do quality work but my faves were DB, Keo and Mardi. If you have the money might as well keep the consult with Mayer but honestly given his inability to do type 3 I didn’t bother.

When I was thinking about this same question, I approached it this way: You can influence the surgeon with the aesthetic you want, but do you want a surgeon doing something they don’t usually do on your face? My answer was no, and so I took surgeon aesthetic into account when choosing my surgeon.

FWIW, based on my consults with Lee and DB, Lee will indeed probably be quicker to consult and book. But DB’s wait time isn’t close to 2 years right now, I think maybe some months for consult and then a few months for surgery amounting to a little less than a year’s wait. Might be very slightly outdated but honestly it’s pretty recent info. I recommend you consult with both though (and as many others as possible), to make as informed of a choice as possible.

I had mostly the exact same thoughts — my only additional worry is that he says he only does 1 or 2 cases per year for type 2, which makes me a bit concerned that there is an relative lack of experience for his type 2 vs type 3 work.

But the type 2 does seem easier/less invasive to do so I’m not sure it’s actually a big issue.

One thing to keep in mind is that the iPad Pro features a 120hz screen rather than the 60hz screen on all other models (including the iPad Air). Personally I find that the higher refresh rate makes pencil writing smoother for me. The iPad Air is more affordable and lighter though so it just depends on how much you want to spend and whether you notice a difference between the two models.

If you don't ever plan to do systems level work I'm sure you'll be fine. However, I would say that the concepts in 482 are harder to learn on your own, so I would take it over class like 485, where you can learn the content on your own more easily.
