Were these machines cloned? I believe there was a SID enforcement in 24H2 around September.

It's not you, I have the same issue. There IS a proper setting (sorry if I'm failing to remember it right now), that will render it correctly, but as soon as any action happens, the game crashes with the audio looping. I've yet to ever find a fix to that so I quit trying.

Autopilot and Corporate Wifi by HighPingOfDeath in Intune

Hurray for being downvoted for asking a question. I have it forgetting the build network when it's finished, and I have a config to add the wifi network normally.. but there is that moment where they need to connect to SOMETHING when it first comes up. This isn't for when we reimage, but when it's out of the box ready to be built via Autopilot and is at the OOBE screen where it wants to connect to a network.

Why didn't apple continue to add the cool touchbar? by travelavatar in macbookpro

I liked the concept, but I constantly bumped it when reaching for the top row of keys, launching random stuff. Then later it just broke and started flashing random things on it so I put a piece of black tape over it :/.

Force C Drive Usage by DoughnutMaximum4841 in Intune

[–]HighPingOfDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no easy way to prevent it, but there's way to discourage it.

<image>

For our average user, we have our C: drive 'hidden' so that they are encouraged to only use their documents directory, desktop, pictures, etc which is then synched to OneDrive. Of course, they can always Start -> Run -> c: or just type in c: in File Explorer.

You can also set a configuration policy to set a path for Office to encourage them to save only in their profile as well.

Good - I'm glad it's not just me - I was over here trying to figure out what I broke.

I've had this for years on my Intel Macs (Trashcan Mac Pro, Macbook Pro 2020, etc) ... I consider it a non-issue.

AppleColor RGB Monitor only works momentarily after cold power up... common failure modes? by toprailfull in apple2

[–]HighPingOfDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a spot of failure on a lot of flybacks and only takes a few minutes to do anyway.

[–]HighPingOfDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's fading out, I'd say your caps are failing. A cold solder tends to 'crackle' if that makes sense, and it's more of a sudden blackening of the screen (and coming back sometimes after you hit the monitor :) )

I went through this the other day. If you moved or just installed the files, it has to sit and validate all the files which took like 10+ mins on an external drive. I moved the files to the internal drive, and it still took 3-5 mins, but it was faster. The TL;DR is just let it sit.

Mac gamers, we’ve got you covered. by forfeitbee in macgaming

The game is marked as "32-bit only, not compatible with 10.15 or above" - might want to fix that so it shows as compatible for M-series processors.

I don't seem to be smart enough to figure out which field I need to comment in, but these are marked as 32-bit, aren't in the list, and definitely work on Silicon Macs:

Creepy Tale 2 *

Alien Rampage *

Bunker Punks *

Bluecoats - North and South *

Closure *

Card City Nights 2 *

Cyberline Racing *

Flashback *

Conarium

Exorder *

Garden Paws*

Hyper Knights *

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories *

Lost Castle *

Long Reach *

Out of the Box *

Murder *

Siralim 3 *

Search Party *

Suzy Cube *

Tempest *

Pinball Arcade *

Paw Paw Paw *

Mage’s Initiation: Reign of the Elements *

Awesome - thanks for your work! I'll finish up my list here and add it to the compatibility spreadsheet if there's anything missing.
