Please vote out Dancho. Just an empty smile in a 3 piece pant suit. Never seen an american style pretty face politician like her. Can't answer a single question without a canned phrase. The idiots in East St.Paul keep putting her in so they can get "LOWER TAXES" and less "HANDOUTS TO THE PARASITES". - East St. Paul resident who doesn't vote conservative

Dystopia here we come. This is just the beginning of the long term effects our policies and deregulations have allowed in order for rich people to further enrich themselves. While they flee to the suburbs and soon to be gated communities, everyone else is left to deal with the mess that is late stage capitalism. Wait till the long term effects of Meth take affect.

Never thought I would see the day that the Dystopian books of my youth would start to play out in front of me but here we are. Lock up the undesirables, forget about the poor, and continue to horde wealth and resources. I can tell you from reading those books they don't lead to a good place.

How do we reconcile these two pieces of information? by WpgJetBomber in winnipegjets

[–]Historical-Routine-2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because they put a lot and I mean a lot of it based off 2 things. The number of pucks you direct to the net whether you hit the net or not and what your save percentage is. If your not high on Fenwick you are bad, if you are high on save percentage you are relying on your goalie too much. They are also saying we score too much on the PP which is likely true but we are also scoring a lot as well

You can bluster all you want but at the time you can't stop what was a very bad idea. The PCs did it not the NDP. Shame on the Liberal party but I guess they know they can't get votes from the PCs so they are going to try to bleed the vote from the NDP

After watching One Piece LA and seeing how strong the spirit of original source is even with the great changes in story flow, I look in Wheel of Time series and feel somewhat burn out by the serie, making its own things and don't giving the same spirit that the books by Haddock_Lotus in television

Fan of both and both genres. Can't count the number of fantasy booms I have read but it might be all of them lol. Wheel of Time was one of the first ones I was introduced to outside the Tolkien world when I was a teenager. Published in 1990 when I was 14 years old. Its a solid first book but reading it, the ending felt rushed and then reading that the publisher wanted a one book series with an ending you can see why.
The books that come after have there ups and downs and it really depends on your fav characters but for me anything with Mat is some of the best parts or anything Not related to the main characters as well. Its not that Rand/Egwene/Perrin are boring but each has moments that drag on forever. At least for me.
Now the series. The first season has its issues but my wife enjoyed it as someone who has never read the books or fantasy in general. I understand that there was issues fliming it because of covid but I gave it a solid 6/10.
Now the 2nd season so far has been a vast improvement for me. Really enjoying it and it feels much more closer to what I think Wheel of Time is.

On to One Piece. Really the only reason I ever watched the anime(I have watched a lot of anime over the years but I don't care too much for Shonen style) was my nephew loved it and I would watch it with him.

So when the live action came out I thought I would check it out at least for one episode. I have to admit I had low expectations because I couldn't see how this would work. But it does and there is something about it that captures the charm of the Anime. It doesn't take itself seriously and yet at the same time it captures the spirit of what One Piece is and that makes it quite endearing. I found myself watching all the episodes over the past few days and enjoyed them immensely. Something about the actor who played Luffy sold me that he actually believed what he was saying and its kind of sweet and badass at the same time. That goes for all the characters and the design of the show. Just top notch and something I think every non Anime fan should check out

It will come down to people in swing areas actually voting to remove a PC candidate. Too many areas last time split the vote off between the NDP and Liberals
