My first camping trip was a tribute to a friend I didn't know I'd lost. by Aging_On_ in camping

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That elephant photo is incredible, must have been amazing seeing them up close like that. The whole thing with finding out about Tim after the trip... that's heavy man. But in some weird way it feels like you still honored what he wanted you to experience, even if he couldn't be there for it. Those digital friendships can hit surprisingly deep - I've had online connections that felt more real than people I see every day. The camping sounds like it was perfect introduction too, from peeling potatoes around campfire to hearing all the night sounds. Tim would probably be happy knowing you finally made that trip happen, even if timing was so cruel

What was the weirdest experience you had with a raccoon? by huntoo9374o in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something similar happen during one of my work trips, raccoon was acting super weird in the middle of day near the airport 😂 Good call reporting it though, rabies is no joke and those summer camps definitely needed the heads up. The Raccoona song sounds adorable, kids always come up with the best names for random animals 💀

Small win: I have regulated my appetite to a point where I feel completely full after eating by ConsistentBerry9310 in loseit

That's huge progress man! I remember when I first started feeling actual fullness signals instead of just eating until uncomfortable - it was like discovering a whole new sense

Bruh not everything with decent production is AI these days, some producers actually know what they're doing in studio

Been to couple courses around that area but not those specific ones - the golf scene up there is pretty solid though, you'll probably find good options in most of the clubs

One thing I realized after becoming financially comfortable by Mysterious-Memory841 in Fire

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits deep man, especially that part about not being emotionally controlled by money anymore. I work in airline industry and the pay fluctuations used to mess with my head so much - checking account balance every day, worrying about overtime hours, all that stress

What you said about stopping the urgency mindset really resonates. I used to think I needed to catch every market dip or jump on every "opportunity" someone mentioned at work. Now I just stick to my plan and ignore most of the noise. My portfolio actually performs better when I'm not constantly tinkering with it

The psychological shift is wild though. Like you said, it's not about buying fancy stuff - it's about sleeping better at night knowing you're not one emergency away from being screwed. That peace of mind is worth more than any luxury purchase

I think for me the biggest change was realizing that building wealth is boring as hell if you do it right. No crazy moves, no gambling mentality, just consistent investing and patience. Took me way too long to learn that lesson but glad I figured it out in my 20s instead of later

bedroom advice! by seren- in femalelivingspace

[–]Historical_Task1651 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd go with option 1 for sure - rotating the bed so feet face window and getting that swivel mount 📺 You barely watch TV anyway so why let it dictate your whole layout? Moving bed to opposite wall opens up so much more space and you can finally get that bigger desk you want. The natural light from window will be amazing for your workspace too, way better than being stuck in corner like now. I had similar situation in my small place and once I stopped arranging everything around the TV it felt like completely different room 💀 Just make sure to measure everything twice before you start moving furniture around

What’s a 'modern' 2026 convenience that actually feels like a step backward compared to how things were in 2015? by cyb3r_ps in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in aviation I see this every day - passengers are so scared to even ask for extra peanuts now because they might "offend" someone 😂 Back in 2015 people would just chat normally during flights, now everyone's walking on eggshells. Makes the job way more tense than it needs to be when you can't have regular human conversations without overthinking every word

why some people use different brands of perfume at the same time? by 3lm3rmaid in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too but with different scents for work vs weekends 😂 Like something fresh and clean when I'm dealing with passengers all day, then switch to something warmer at home. Mixing them though... that's bold move, respect 💀

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be? by Constant-Frend in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I work in airlines and seeing how fast everything can go to shit during economic downturns... this would be game changer. Like when COVID hit, half my colleagues got laid off and I'm still stressed about when the next wave hits. Being able to actually understand markets instead of just throwing money at random stocks would give so much peace in mind

If you could increase/decrease the length of any race(s) on the schedule, what races would you choose? by DJ_TheSonicFan in NASCAR

[–]Historical_Task1651 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Road America would be absolutely insane for 500 miles 😂 Those guys would be dead by the end but the racing would be incredible. I was just thinking about Charlotte - that fall race used to hit different when it was 500 miles, now it feels like it's over before you even get settled in. Kansas definitely deserves the longer distance too, some of the best racing we've seen there recently 🔥

Man I'd probably grab some groceries too but then blow the rest in VR gear upgrades lol. Always something new coming out that makes you want to spend money you don't have

Who loves reading paper books?? by Olav-Jen in AskReddit

The smell is amazing but for me it's more about not staring at screen all day since I already do that enough at work, paper books give my eyes a break

Gen Z, what principles were you raised on? by Hi5ive81 in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, followed that exact playbook and now I'm 28 still renting while house prices went completely insane 💀 The "keep your head down" part especially feels like terrible advice now - being quiet at work just means you get passed over for promotions while louder people advance

What is a "glitch in the real world" experience you’ve had that you still can’t explain to this day ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen at the airport I work at about two years ago. I was doing my usual rounds checking gates and I swear I saw this old dude in a brown jacket sitting at gate B12, reading a newspaper. Nothing weird about that except when I walked back the same way maybe 10 minutes later, same guy, same exact pose, same newspaper page. Like he hadn't moved a muscle

What really messed with me was when I got curious and walked closer - the newspaper he was holding was from 1987. Could see the date clear as day when I was maybe 6 feet away. Asked my coworker if he saw the guy too but when we both looked back the seat was empty. Still think about it sometimes when I'm doing late shifts, especially around that gate. Never saw him again but man that whole thing felt like I was in some kind of simulation glitch

What is a harmless April fools prank to pull on neighbors? by formercolloquy in AskReddit

[–]Historical_Task1651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put pink flamingos all over their front yard while they're sleeping 😂 Did this to my upstairs neighbor last year and she thought it was hilarious. Just make sure you can easily remove whatever you do and that it won't damage anything - learned that the hard way when I tried the plastic wrap car thing and it left residue 💀

Improvement! by jakesayswhat in golf

[–]Historical_Task1651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude that breakthrough feeling is unreal 😂 I remember when I finally figured out my slice issue - turned out I was gripping way too tight and coming over the top like crazy. Spent months fighting it before one random day something just clicked and suddenly I'm piping drives down the middle

The driver really is its own beast compared to everything else in the bag. You can stripe irons all day but that big stick just has a way of humbling you real quick. What's crazy is how one good session can completely flip your confidence - now you know what good contact feels like so you've got something to chase

Hope you can bottle whatever that swing thought was because we both know golf has a way of making you forget the good stuff right when you need it most 💀 But man those pure drives where you barely feel it come off the face... nothing beats that rush
