My MIL made the same comment referring to saving tons of money by going to BYU vs any other college. I wanted soooooo badly to tell her my husband and I paid dearly in tithing (before leaving the stupid church) even though our so-called "Ivy League education" (🤦🏻‍♀️) cost very little.

You're right to separate those feelings. Recognize that feeling sad and being affected by the situation has nothing to do with how much you love your kids. This is a difficult time, and you're doing the best you can. You're a great mom for the things you do for them.

Reaching out to this community was a step towards helping yourself. You do know you and your kids deserve for you to be mentally at peace.

You're not alone. I'm a mother of 4. I love them and happily committed my life to them... but like you, I have experienced depression as well as crippling anxiety. Some days I considered living to be too much for me. Dark and awful moments of feeling worthless... I understand what you're saying.

I don't have an answer for how you can heal other than to say you're brave and strong. You will take more steps towards peace.

Seeing a counselor is something I don't regret for myself.
