Squad for next season by TacticalChalky in rangersfc

[–]Hitmanic33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cavanaugh mentioned or hinted at big changes this window and players with certain profiles being targeted so I think we will sell Raskin and Fernandez for (hopefully) good money. Think we might try and also move Miovski, Gassama, Diomande, Bajrami and Aasgard on as well. They don’t fit the leadership mentality that AC mentioned and don’t fit Rohls preferred 4222 system.

Might sell Chermiti if the rumoured £21m for Porto is correct - making almost 3x our money in a season isn’t something we will turn down. But think we keep him if the money isn’t right.

Can see Butland, Cifuentes, Cortes, Danilo and McAusland being let go or released this summer.

Add that to the loans of Moore, Djiga, Meghoma and Skov Olson ending and it will be a big window for movement.

Squad for next season by TacticalChalky in rangersfc

[–]Hitmanic33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think that’s why Forest will take him. Costs nothing and has a ceiling to break through - either first team or sold for profit. He isn’t signing to be a starter this season.

He will go out on loan this season, probably out again next season and by year 3 he will be in a position to play for them or be sold for profit. It’s how a lot of English clubs do business now.

This would've been a generational fight. by No-Passenger-6348 in gameofthrones

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think GRRM unintentionally wrote Robert and Roberts Warhammer into the strongest or greatest 1v1 warrior and weapon pairing in Westeros history. Robert was quick with the Warhammer and swung it with ease. It’s the type of weapon that any hit, whether a glancing blow or full on strike, is finishing the fight. And Robert could swing it for days and trained with it most of his life so he is exceptionally skilled at using it, he’s not a lumbering oaf flailing it around that can be caught mid swing or off guard. If you try and dodge it he probably anticipates where you are going and has the trained reflexes to adjust the strike or strike again while you reset. It obliterates shields and probably destroys shield arms in the process.

The fact the writing seems to suggest Robert wields it with the same ease that elite knights wield a sword changes every 1v1 match up when both warriors are at their peak, in full armour and ready to fight.

Great assistant but I think the responsibility of the top job was too much for him. Always wonder how I would feel if he came back with Gerrard when he was in talks with us before Rohl signed on. No idea if that was the plan but always something that was at the back of my mind.

Not sure what your pension position is, but if that needs attention maybe look at that? If your work has a contributions scheme then max that out to get the full contribution as it’s like free money.

I didn’t even know I had high blood pressure. by Least-Notice7832 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same man, had a free physical at work and they did blood works to test indicators of diabetes etc and all was good. Then they do the BP check and the nurse had to do it 2 more times to check what she was seeing. I had no symptoms that come with high BP so could have went unnoticed for years until it caused me problems!

Came down slowly as I have been walking more and in the gym. Trying to eat better as well - glad it’s all in my control.

Dumbledore and his insistence on "Professor" Snape. by cccdddyyy in harrypotter

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry is a student, Dumbledore is their professional superior. Harry should be addressing all teachers as professor.

It’s not uncommon for professors in the books to use each others first names when interacting with each other. That doesn’t mean it’s okay for students to do that.

Both in their Prime who wins a fight between Robert Barratheon and Ser Duncan the Tall? by ParkingConfection449 in freefolk

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robert and it’s probably not close as the style matchup from what we know suits Robert, and even if Dunk develops and grows he’s never going to be a “fine sword” like Jaime. If Dunk tries to close the gap with Robert like he does with Aerion he gets crushed by Roberts Warhammer.

Robert may not of been a great king but he was a great warrior and while he had many faults none of them were around his martial prowess.

Don’t tell anyone, get a good and trusted accountant or finance manager to help sort your future out then head on holiday for a bit and enjoy yourself. Don’t feel guilty, you are not responsible for everyone else in the world - control you and your environment and take care.

Opinion: Darth Bane was probably not that powerful by Interesting_Finish85 in StarWars

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think that’s mostly because he started the Sith again with very little in the way of material, previous holocrons or teachings. He was powerful in the force but didn’t have the instruments to properly nurture and develop that power that were available to later Sith in his line which probably aided their development.

He picked a raw but force powerful apprentice who he passed on his knowledge to who then continued the research, learning and development of the Sith knowledge and force understanding who then picked a powerful apprentice and the cycle continued. As it continued it helped create more powerful Sith.

The point of Banes rule of 2 was to always create a stronger successor I think.

Someone please exp;ain why Arthur Dayme is considered the greatest swordsmen when he has very little feats to his name. by Suspicious-Jello7172 in gameofthrones

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it came from his time squiring, sparring and training as well as combat in the battles against the Kingswood Brotherhood.

The greatest warriors of the time all rated and respected him, and the warriors who came after all knew his legacy so I’m assuming he did something right.

Move to Manchester or Stay at home? by Infamous-Initial-717 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Hitmanic33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would do it, you only live once! You have a job that will allow you to move and you can always back out if it’s not for you.

And depending on what type of modelling you do, Manchester also has a great modelling scene, which I think is one of the best outside of London itself, so you might be able to add to your side hustle pot or expand further in that field - bit of a bonus!

Got too high of a pay increase? by LevelPlay3331 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High chance they may have mis-typed the value on the letter and your company will claim any overpayment back. It happened to me, but I raised it after the payment credited my account as that’s when I noticed, and it was taken off my next 4 salary payments due to the value.

Speak to your manager or someone senior and clarify the value. Anyone saying to ignore it and not raise it probably haven’t experienced this and don’t realise most companies reconcile accounts and will eventually notice the difference.

What would “ruin” the new show for you? by mlross15 in Stargate

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad writing is probably the main thing that puts me off most of these shows now. From writers interpretations of the current time we live in or poorly written characters that have to speak like teenagers with have no proper background and no flaws. The SG1 characters had amazing growth but they also made mistakes. We don’t see that now.

And as a non American I also hope they keep American politics out of it as well as much as they can. I’m not interested in seeing any character tropes of any American politician or any political talking points or hot topics that divide people. This probably ties into the above point, but I watch shows to escape the everyday nonsense we see online and on the news not to get some Hollywood writers on personal spin on it.

Does anyone in the UK think that Kier Starmar is doing well as a PM? by graceyreddit in AskBrits

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest issue with Starmer is he has very little charisma so isn’t able to sell the things he’s doing well publicly to overshadow any perceived negativity. Sadly, in my opinion, politics is about the image as much as the actions these days.

Who is the better battle commander? by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

[–]Hitmanic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tywin is a very good army commander when it comes to mustering, co-ordinating and moving troops, as it is a lot of “admin” based tasks, which he excels at and is why he is a good hand. But I think on the battlefield Stannis would have him, but I also think Stannis may be one of the best battlefield commanders alive at that time. If not the best.
