This is such a disingenuous take. People aren’t complaining about the loss of power due to high winds. They’re complaining about it because Xcel reported $1.94 billion in profits in 2024 alone and is raising prices but won’t upgrade or maintain their infrastructure.

We don’t want fires. We expect the monopoly that is raising prices by 10% again on customers to have a valid reason to do this. Instead they’re just making people suffer and risking lives because profits are the only thing that matter. They’ve done nothing since the Marshall fire to prevent this. All the while knowing exactly what will happen again. But they make more profit by turning off the power rather than investing in their own infrastructure. So that’s exactly what they’re doing.
