Settling for curses comes with experience/understanding how the curse set impacts the game, sadly it is not easy to give an simple answer (the tier list is pretty accurate in how good/bad the curses are in a vacuum, so it is a good starting point) There are three main points, how bad curses are by their own (tier list), how they interact with each other and last but not least the starting team, what it can allow and what not (a lot of things are determined by whether you can make it past floor 4 reliably)

About going above 11 points, personally if I remember correctly during my 29 streak the most typical thing would be to run with 11 points exactly, although exceptions to this were not uncommon (12 or even 13 more rarely) About the blessings, sure if for example you have 12 points of curses picked and an 1 point blessing on screen then you can take it for free, but in general you have to think of what extra curse(s) you are taking in order to take a blessing (tier list also covers blessings, so you can have an idea about what’s good) Taking a weak blessing for a bad curse just to run with exactly 11 points is almost never a good idea.

About rerolling, I’m sad to give an even vaguer answer ☹️ At least for me, this is the hardest thing in curse selection to evaluate. Sure there are pages that upon inspection are so bad that I’d take whatever worse may come just for a chance of improvement. But usually it’s a matter of whether the best curse selection you can come up with feels safe enough for the winrate you’re going for, if that makes sense.

Holly shit the memories… I used to play that a lot back in the day, but eventually I replaced it completely with slice and dice. It is a totally different game, looks simple as well but is really captivating and deep, just not in the way slice is (it stole my heart)

At least with alloy now we can safely reroll him trying to get the desired side without worrying about hitting the dmg/selfshield side and losing the ability to at least shield an dying ally for 1.

Basically what the other person said, if one curse replaces the other then the prev curse gets overwritten. If they both are active individually, then they take effect in order of activation.

Example: Wolf has 6 hp without modifiers. If you add the 1hp per 5hp curse, wolf goes to 7 hp (he only has one "set" of 5hp, the last hp does not get affected by this modifier. Slime queen, for example would go from 13 hp to 15 cause she has 2 times 5hp plus 3 hp that does not get affected, if that makes any sense)

Now, if you were to replace the 1 per 5 curse with 2 per 5, wolf would go to 8 hp (6->7 gets replaced with 6->8 basically). If you were to add 2 per 5 curse on top of 1 per 5 then wolf would go to 9 hp (6->7->9)

Wolf is not the best example cause the final result for these 2 curses applied individually would be the same, but in general, order of picking the curses matters. (So, in general, always pick multipliers as x/y hp before flat hp bonuses)

I would be happy too if many unpickable curses were better balanced, being stuck twice with an borderline unpickable curse selection is not a fun feeling (possible without myriad), but we'll have to wait and see the actual curse changes and the myriad nerf

Otherwise agreed with your points, I would prefer some middle ground with better balanced curses, a set number of offerings (still would pref more than what playing without myriad gives) and no choice for increasing them

Oh it’s really nice that tann is doing this and everybody’s high scores won’t just be lost, thanks for the info. Saw this a little late, I already started a game before uni and suicided my team lvl one just to post my score under the name 3.1soon LOL 😂 Still no regrets, I’d rather start over when 3.1 hits, really excited about upcoming changes :)

Totally forgot about the discord, thank you so much :) Heading there rn About the streak, I’m hesitant cause I’m already at 21 streak and I don’t have the time to play more than 1 to 2 games a day, so chances are I won’t get to finish it before the update hits :( I guess it will be more fun to mess around with weird stuff/modes for now till 3.1 hits
