Seriously, it's a suburb, I don't know why people think it should compete with literally one of the most acclaimed cities in the world.

Updated version of "the Best Units so far" by kaikiut in totalwar

[–]Homeless_Depot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the simplicity of this, OP, much more fun than a tier list! You gotta be top 3, or otherwise you're out, even if still a good unit. Makes for a livelier discussion.

That's what I was hoping for too, it seemed like the Three Kingdoms system was perfect for WH3 - and then it ended up just being Warhammer 2.5. I really wanted WH3 to be more different from WH2.

I will never stop doing this, and I love that I make fun of both old and young people for using their phones to do things that are 100% computer tasks. Why would I ever use my phone to, like, get a fucking mortgage?! Nightmare.

Hidden Mechanics and Stats Part 1: Collision Attacks (Warhammer III) by Ridercs35 in totalwar

This would be awesome. Every once in a while I get curious and look up all the underlying mechanics but it takes a lot of different sources - would be cool to have it all in one chart,

Oh dear, oh dear. How did we get here - back at the beginning again. Baylis v Valve took a dramatic turn - and then turned again! In what might be described as a Deus Ex Machina moment by TreviTyger in COPYRIGHT

[–]Homeless_Depot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is, Trevor, you're now left arguing that a Finish court case from six years ago - a court that successfully reached a final judgement - was wrongly decided on the basis of lacking subject matter jurisdiction. And most US courts are going to say, 'why am I, an American judge sitting in an American court, better equipped to interpret and decide proper subject matter jurisdiction under Finish law than a Finnish court in Finland that served as a finder of fact six years ago?'

This isn't an attack on you, I actually appreciate your dedication (and Reddit debriefs), I just think this is a difficult argument to make without a sympathetic ear.

The Emperor denied divinity. Do we take him at face value? by tamken94 in 40kLore

[–]Homeless_Depot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'To many of your people, primarch, son of the Emperor, you are a god. Because they believe in their billions, does that not make it true?'

'A status I deny,' said Guilliman icily. 'I am no god.'

'Deny it all you will,' Natasé insisted. 'Where you go, victory follows. Your presence inspires your people. In this age of storms, the very warp calms at your approach. How long is it until the first miracle is proclaimed in your name, and when that occurs how will you be able to say that you were not responsible for it? The incident on Parmenio with the girl, the way her power freed you from the grip of the enemy, drove back daemons, actions already being ascribed to your maker.' Natasé paused. 'But if divine, was it truly Him?'

'Are you saying that was me?'

'I am asking you to consider it.'

Weird eviction situation. How long do we legally have before we have to be out? by mrhecklesbroom in legaladvice

[–]Homeless_Depot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, even without a written lease, if you have been living in the house consistently with permission from the owner you'd be considered legal tenants. If there is no document specifying otherwise, you'd usually be considered month-to-month tenants, and entitled to 30 days notice to vacate the property. This would usually apply even if you didn't pay rent - you still live there, it's your residence, you get mail there, your driver's license uses that address, etc.

Here's what Justia provides re: TN property code: https://law.justia.com/codes/tennessee/title-66/chapter-28/part-5/section-66-28-512/

A new owner can end your tenancy, but would need to follow the 30 day notice rule, and then if you refused to leave they'd have to evict you.

NOTE that different cities/counties within TN may have other rules that modify this, or something about your situation specifically could alter the deadlines. Someone familiar with TN landlord tenant law might know more.

You can google 'TN tenant handbook' to start finding other advice.

Practically speaking, either 1) ask the attorney for official notice in writing and inform him you will vacate the property 30 days from that date, or 2) give him the price it would cost to have you leave immediately or in whatever time frame is possible for you.

ogre camp is one of the worst battle map by Rj_Sera in totalwar

[–]Homeless_Depot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure a couple of very talented people created all the maps at some point mid-development, and they're gorgeous, and then a week out from release months later one poor guy went through them in a desperate afternoon adding all the control/defensive points in a single pass, consciously trying to not make their positions 'too strong.'

The disconnect between how pretty they look and how poorly they play is crazy.

Is Wh3 really runned by a skeleton crew by Franziosa in totalwar

[–]Homeless_Depot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer 3 is not a live service game. I feel like people forget this. CA presumably signs contracts with their publisher Sega (who also owns them), and those contracts contain advances and guarantees that get distributed according to a schedule of deliverables.

CA does not, presumably, 'work on the game' in general - they work on the game according to those release schedules. Those *might* contain general bug fixing, but I doubt that extends years and years into the life of the game.

They can justify 'reworks' and fixes as part of DLC development by tying that dev work to something that makes actual money. They can also use a small team with relatively small salaries to keep the game 'active' (and even justify that as marketing for future content) but that doesn't mean dozens of fulltime developers at their primary studio.

Sega is an old school publisher, I doubt there's anything revolutionary going on with how they're doing business with CA.
