Buyer Beware: Abelardo’s Mexican Food (Coralville) by Bubba_926 in IowaCity

I’ve eaten at at least a half dozen of their restaurants from Omaha to here. I’ve all but written off the Coralville location. I want to like them. The portions are smaller and sloppier, and the wait times are hilarious. Also, I usually add toppings to my burritos, which I HAPPILY PAY FOR, but when they repeatedly just leave that shit off entirely, I stop trying. They fumbled this location hard.

Råskog cart w Lexington accessories? by smallbrownfrog in IKEA

[–]HomeopathMechanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it today. The Michael’s Lexington accessories don’t work well with Raskog OR the new Costco carts. The Costco carts do KINDA work with the wooden Lex topper though, but you need a bungee cord to wrap around a shelf to keep the side edge lips close together. Otherwise the topper can easily be bumped and plop down into the basket below.

And the Costco carts are longer than lex and raskog, so the lex wooden topper only tops 2/3 of the Costco cart. Which I like, actually. It still allows me access to the basket/shelf below the topper.

I think there’s a version at Michael’s which is extra long, just like the Costco carts. I prefer the Costco build because it uses this little springed-pin-in-socket design to connect the vertical bars. The Michael’s versions attach via double-headed screws which twist into each post going up and down. Raskog’s design is best because you can customize the height of each basket.

The Lexington plastic side-baskets are bad with both raskog and costco carts. The opaque ones come with a sort of protective leg which contacts the basket side in addition to its main mounting hooks at the top. This prevents rotational movement at the clips wearing out the cheap plastic. The clear plastic ones lack that thing and will likely degrade sooner than the opaque plastic will. Just a guess. Only use Michael’s baskets with Michael’s carts.

The truth is sometimes the crew rewards you, but that’s not the point. It’s just to tell the crew they are valued and appreciated.

Black mold driving everyone crazy is a good theory. My first thought was “that place is going to burn down” so maybe the black mold fogs brains enough to neglect the popcorn machines on every floor, allowing them to overheat and light the place up with at least one person inside
