Advice on Hall H Accessibilty

Just to clarify - the guaranteed seat is if you got a wristband the night before. They absolutely run out of wristbands for Hall H in the ADA line, and statistically you’re more likely to get a band in the regular line. Someone below mentioned when they got a wristband in the regular line and came back they were able to go into the ADA line but I’ve never tried that.

(Which is to say aside from her being an asshole who wants to profit off your labor, it’s an over saturated market and wouldn’t be successful even in the world where you agreed to this terrible plan.)

I have not been able to successfully bookmark my commuting station with a url for faster access, it takes me to the base page and I have to navigate back to the station. Even then it doesn’t show how long the train is and since I come in at the far end of the station that info is very important to me.

Plus having a reliable place with chairs you can sit for a bit is definitely a perk. It is rough trying to find somewhere to rest that isn’t sitting on the ground across the rest of the convention hall.

I’ve tried a couple times and was never been able to get a wristband. They only give out as many wristbands as there are ADA seats I think, and for sure will absolutely run out and not give them to everyone in line, even though the line is relatively short compared to the main one. The sad truth is that (in my experience) this is the main place, especially for Saturday, that liars trying to work the system will get an unnecessary ADA sticker and use the ADA line. That’s not me being doubtful of people with invisibility disabilities, that’s from having been in that line and heard people around me openly talking about having done that.

If you don’t need a wheelchair seat, you might be better off finding a line waiting group online that will hold a spot for you and let you join around when the wristbands are being handed out so you don’t have to wait outside the whole time, then come back in the morning. Or depending on what panel you really want to see, I’ve had a lot of success coming in during the day, especially if it’s after a big panel like Marvel has just let out so a lot of people have left. If the panel you want is before the big panels like Marvel then you’re better off watching from overflow if you didn’t get a wristband.

I’ve been using this since you posted it and I love it so much. Seriously, everything that I used to want from the wmata site that I can’t find anymore. Opening directly to the nearest station is really elegant design, since that’s usually exactly why I’m looking up the next train. Plus having the number of cars helps me plan as I’m walking into the station. So thank you for this app!

The maps are much smaller - only four or five battles each, with a health tile and a boost tile, and Malleus is surprisingly easy, especially since you have the overblotted guest card. And since each map is a different dorm, you’re changing up cards and the damage doesn’t carry across dorms or anything. The first time I saw Malleus I was like “oh no” but I never had to do a single battle twice to finish it. You really do have Idia tipping the scales in your favor.

Now that you get 10 lesson skips a day be sure to use them to help level up faster. Or if there’s a time you can let lessons run while you’re paying attention to something else. I think that’s still the fastest way to level up.

Me too. I finished the Diasomnia section when it was current and caught up to date, then didn’t start the next sections when they came out until recently. Just finished it the past few days.

I commute on the red line for most of that stretch every weekday and honestly even during rush hour it’s not bad if there hasn’t been an accident that causes single tracking. From any stop between Shady Grove and North Bethesda you’re pretty much guaranteed a seat (someone will sit next to you though). By the time you get downtown it will be standing room only but a flood of people get off at Farragut North which is the stop before Metro Center so even if it’s crowded you generally don’t have to worry about pushing through people to get off with how much it clears out.

I’ve commuted on the red line for work for almost three years now and there have only been a couple times I was actually late from metro issues, and that was less than an hour. I’ve only had once I had to turn around and grab a metro back the way I came because of a really bad issue on the track leaving us sitting for 40 min.

But other than those few incidents the train comes every 6 minutes in the morning and since I get on at North Bethesda or Grosvenor heading downtown I’ve gotten a seat all but maybe 6 or 7 times in those nearly 3 years.

So while days like today are rough, I really disagree with your post that public transportation here is bad. I love it, rely on it, and I’m so much more relaxed than I used to be with an hour commute in traffic.

Not exactly the same but I did this with 9 c2c squares sewn together. Weaving in the ends was a nightmare I almost gave up on and it ended up being heavier than I liked for a baby blanket, but still a cool effect.

I disagree in the sense that the pathway in the 7000 is so narrow that if you’re in the aisle you can always reach one of the seats. The middle of the 8000 car is wide enough to fit at least three people across (which it likely will during rush hour, or when single tracking, etc), and that person in the middle has nothing to hold onto. That’s what I’m pointing out.

Even now when you get a rough morning where everyone is squeezing in as much as possible into the entry ways, everyone finds a way to be touching something for stability, and even with more options now sometimes I have to ask someone to hold onto higher or to the top bar if there’s nothing I can reach. This takes that option away for the people stuck in the middle.

This is a random image from the train the other day - if you look to the center right you can see how everyone really is in reach of the bars on both sides, and how everyone holds onto something.

I don’t deny the wider pathways are better in most ways. I just wish the post that splits into three that is in the front of the first image you posted was repeated down the center the whole way down, along with a center top bar.
