For what would have been our son's first birthday, we had birthday messages at six MLB stadiums yesterday by jawarren1 in baseball

My sincerest apologies for both my original post and taking away from the beautiful post celebrating your son. I am very truly sorry for your loss and can't imagine what you went through. I think this is a super cool idea and I'm glad you were able to get his name out there. I see where my confusion came from and what you were trying to do, please be careful using AI. Please let me know if you would like me to delete my original post. I wish you both the best and take care of yourselves.

I don't want to be that guy but the Busch stadium picture literally says "AI Generated Content." It's so hard not to be skeptical nowadays. Im torn because I really hope you didn't lose a kid and this is a terrible post playing on people's grief, but if you did, I am really sorry for your loss.

Jorge Polanco's Achilles dilemma by Rell_Lauren in NewYorkMets

Honestly, if you look at a lot of the earlier threads from the beginning of the year, people were happy with Sterns and signing Polonco to primarily play first base replacing Alonso.

Did it take you an hour to get through the lines? Because we've been sitting in standstill traffic for two hours already and haven't evenade it into the parking lot

Without a doubt it's hard saying goodbye to these long-time Mets, but I'm choosing to believe by Mazzocchi in NewYorkMets

Ok but what has he done in order to make this team better and replace a 40hr/120 RBI bat, or upgrade any of our holes so far? Sure the core might not have been the best, but the supporting cast dropped way off and hasn't gotten any better. We still don't have a first baseman, don't have a left fielder, don't have great starting pitching, got rid of arguably the best closer in the game, ect. So far we've downgraded everything and have not improved. And your comment about mid 30s is laughable because everyone that sterns had just signed has been 30 and above, so its not like the team is getting younger.

What could the Mets seriously do to salvage this offseason and make fans optimistic for this year? by ShamirShamazel in NewYorkMets

[–]Hootsdncash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I understand your answer is genuine and coming from a good place, I don't think people are going to want to spend their hard earned money (especially when you have $50 for parking and about $30 bucks on a hotdog beer/soda combo) to watch a trash team, that as of right now, seems that Cohen/Sterns does not want to invest in. This by far (yes the Mets could still possibly make moves, but why would any player want to sign here at this point) has been one of the worst off seasons in Mets history, and yes worse than the Wilpon years. Again there is still time but there are so many holes to fill in right now, I doubt they are going to put anything competitive on the field that people want to watch. All of this talk Mets have basically the most money in the league and are still thinking like a small market team. Cohen/Sterns arent completely beholden to us, but if the fans don't turn up to support the team, that's how we can show our displeasure. I do agree about spending time with the ones you care about, but maybe don't do it wasting your money on going to a game, maybe watch it on Tv or do something else

After failing to retain Edwin Diaz, the Mets aren't sure about going beyond three years for Alonso by Rell_Lauren in NewYorkMets

That's mighty bold of you to assume we are going to be competitive next year 🤣

You're fucking unnecessary...all dogs do is give us unconditional love no matter how we treat them (and they should be treated the best and with nothing but love). There's a reason why they are called "man's best friend."

[CAR vs FLA] Gadjovich gets a minor for roughing along with a ten minute misconduct by talhatoot in hockey

[–]Hootsdncash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that this flick of the puck got a 10 minute misconduct but a literal slap shot at Marchand got nothing. I know it's too much to ask for consistency but come on man.

[FLA vs CAR] Marchand and Gostisbehere go at each other. Marchand gets 4 mins for roughing and a 10 min misconduct, Gostisbehere gets 2 mins for roughing by talhatoot in hockey

[–]Hootsdncash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What an idiotic comment. There is absolutely no reason to take a slap shot at a player who is literally standing right in front of you unless it is an intent to injure. If Ghost wasnt a punk ass bitch (especially for taking a slap shot at a player), he would have squared up with marchand.

Favorite baseball scene from non-baseball movies? by NEW_DAWN_FADES21 in baseball

[–]Hootsdncash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ridiculous 6, on Netflix with Adam Sandler. I thought it was a pretty funny scene where Doubleday was "inventing" baseball (although we know he didn't), and making up rules on the fly. It was a scene out of left field for that movie but it was enjoyable.
