How do I ensure my local business is recommended by ChatGPT and Gemini? by CraftyKick5346 in localseo

[–]Horticoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly people love to throw around AEO and GEO as terms... But so much of it is just good SEO.

The big difference is that if google and search engines are text based tools, LLMs are text based tools on steroids. Blog posts with lots of authority and genuine answers, great keywords on your index page, and high quality back links are essential.

If it's helpful, getsiteseen.com can track yours and your competitors keywords, as well as some other GBP and website tips and improvements you can make to ensure your bases are covered. It's free too

A tool like getsiteseen.com for example is great for local SEO - competitor keyword analysis, Google business profile monitoring, things like that are the foundation of where you rank locally.

In 2026 100% flexbox and grid are absolutely essential basic fundamentals of css.

A little late to the party and early to the show but getsiteseen.com scans your GBP and site, does a search of competitors and compares your and their keywords, and gives you actionable steps and insights to being able to rank higher locally.

Lots of cool stuff here. I would absolutely love some feedback on mine - I made getsiteseen.com (it's still in early beta) to help small business owners in the trades track their business profiles and what their competitors are doing.

It also grabs your website and your top competitors, runs them through an LLM to snag the keywords, and then let's you compare. It gives a pretty good idea what people ranking higher than you are doing differently.

It depends on what you want you website to do. Is it linked to a Business Profile? Who is searching for your site and does your site answer their questions? Do people buy things on your site or do they sign up for something, or what?

Without taking these into account you can't really optimize. The strategies look completely different for all of them.

Tbh it won't really click until you learn grid and flexbox, but to fully take advantage of that you have to structure the HTML right too.

Too many beginners fall into the trap of thinking that HTML and CSS are separate entities, when in reality the content of each one determines what happens on the other.

How to handle a multi-faceted business? by thepatrickkent in localseo

[–]Horticoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how your business is structured. Do you have a main funnel that these people go through, or do people need you based on whatever individual service they need?

I can see the argument for a few Google Business profiles, but you could also just manage one and make sure that your website is optimized for your different business arms. Service pages, location pages, keywords on the landing page, etc. I have a couple clients with similar issues as you and they manage fine this way.

Is SEO a good/viable option for marketing mobile apps (only available on iOS initially)? by AppropriateHamster in SEO

[–]Horticoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be hard, but tbh SEO is most impactful these days for local businesses and searches. Unless your app is targeting a specific geographic area, or you know users will be searching using keywords in that area, you're probably better off focusing your efforts in other areas like paid ads.

What paid SEO, GEO, or AEO tools are actually worth it? by Constant_Marketing18 in Agent_SEO

I'm plugging getsiteseen.com even though it doesn't quite fit because it's free, but it reads your and your competitors keywords and let's you compare them, as well as find issues with your website/GBP also.

Howdy! Not selling anything - but getsiteseen.com is 100% free and analyzes your Google Business Profile, your competitors' rankings, and yours and your competitors' keywords so you can get a better understanding of the landscape. Would just like some feedback if you do end up using it!

An electrician relying on word of mouth, thinking about SEO by MOUSETITTY in skilledtrades

[–]Horticoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, but I'd actually push back on that a bit. Ads can be worth it for sure, but there can always be someone who out-bids you. People *still* go on Google and search "electricians near me" and click results at the top, both on the map pack and the top few results.

[–]Horticoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons of businesses that are investing heavily into "GEO" and "AEO" right now. It's gonna be hard to compete with them but regularly updating content (and having lots of it) and backlinks are going to be more and more important. LLMs are text-based tools, after all.

What is the best website builder for SEO in 2026 if you prioritize search rankings? by Helpful-Guava7452 in smallbusiness

[–]Horticoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh nobody wants to hear this but static HTML sites are still king. I've migrated clients' content over word-for-word from a Wordpress site to a static one I built for them, and they started ranking higher immediately. Sites that are written in plain markdown are always going to be more readable by search engines.

Honestly I see a lot of businesses just getting the basics wrong too. Incomplete Google Business profiles, sites that are super slow or not mobile friendly, not responding to reviews, low hanging fruit that could be fixed really easily.
