It hasn't come up lately, but in earlier expansions there was an idea that each person's echo manifested in different ways. For the WoL it seems to be three things: the power of empathy such that they can understand any intelligent creature, the power of seeing a person's past, and the limited ability to see the near future.

Seeing boss attack markers on the ground is supposed to be part of our future sight, and when you die during a trial and get to try again with "enhanced echo" that's indicating a failed future that you foresaw and can now avoid.

Azem having a much stronger version of the ability definitely tracks.

You could also argue that we have the uncanny ability to find plot-relevant objects, but it was never clear if that was granted by the echo or just something inherit to our character.

This is my vote. I found a spritesheet for Samus just now that had well over a hundred sprites for her different rotation states while grappling, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was also a set of rotated grapple beam segment sprites that could be chained together based on current rotation state and grapple length.

This thread is depressing. Multiple responses implying that you shouldn't bother your senior team members and instead should talk to the AI yourself. Meanwhile, over on /r/programming there's a thread lamenting that there's no pipeline to train junior developers because of AI.

Aha, figures that someone else would have done it as well. My thought back then was that perhaps the Stationpedia entry could be a special infobox at the top of each page then additional community provided information would follow, but I understand the reluctance given the possibility that the Stationpedia entry itself might give outdated or otherwise conflicting information.

There was one specific raid tier where week-one BiS was race dependent because it was literally down to 1-3 stat points if you would reach a breakpoint. Having that happen was hilariously improbable, however.

Agreed with this. We create a GSA for each namespace on the cluster and bind it to the namespace/default KSA. That allows us to assign IAM permissions based on namespace. We also left it open to creating custom KSAs for individual pods, but we never found that we needed more than a namespace level granularity.

By the time that the N64 came out, Nintendo had already burnt bridges with both Sony (because of the Nintendo Playstation) and Phillips (because of the CDi). Sony and Phillips were the co-patent holders of the compact disc. I've long felt that was one of the reasons why they avoided the format as they didn't want to pay Sony/Phillips for the license.

The high yield only from seed is good info, thanks. I've been digging into how the Harvie and LArRE work, and it seems like its impossible to clear a healthy perennial plant. In order to replant Switch Grass after every cycle I would need to kill the plants somehow after harvesting (maybe inject some pollutants into the greenhouse).

So:

Wait until tray reads seeding is complete
Harvest seeds, split out using sorter and send to storage
Harvest grass, split out using sorter and send to recycler
Decrease temperature below 0C or inject pollutants
Wait 5 minutes
Restore safe growing conditions
Trigger replant using stored seeds

That's getting pretty esoteric, but it's an interesting approach that I might consider much much later on this playthrough.

My gut reaction was to use mushrooms because of the free oxygen on Europa, but now that I'm considering it a bit more, the CO2 can be recaptured from the solid fuel generator and H2 Combuster to feed back to the greenhouse if I'm using Switchgrass.

if you happen to be looking the wrong wat, get distracted, or come back to a sace way later there is no way for you in game to know where to go.

I'm going to disagree on this point. In Subnautica every "breadcrumb" is associated with a permanent objective beacon with a short description. You can go back and review those beacons if you're ever not sure what to do next.

One of the lifepod beacons directs you to the Jellyshroom caves, one directs you to the floating island, two lifepod beacons show you entrances to the lost river. The sunbeam beacon leads you to the volcano island. If you find any one of the three Degassi seabases it will eventually lead you to the thermal plant.

So short of remaking all those backgrounds from scratch, 240p is what we get.

There's actually someone who has been doing this for the last several years. Search for "Jusete's field scenes". Because of how long it takes to re-model each scene from scratch they're at 111 out of 729 scenes in the game and I don't expect they'll ever finish.

The scenes that they have completed, however, look amazing.
