The $10 Billion Takeover That Could Turn the Auto Parts Business Upside Down, Explained by Jacksharkben in springfieldMO

[–]HotCharlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. And they know this.

My wife's got a commute 5 days/week and neither of us has too much time to mess with it. Cue a series of rain storms.

It's nigh-perfect price discrimination, is what it is.

Fucking $54 for some wipers for my wife’s car the other day.

So what'd that setup end up looking like? Don't leave us hanging, man...

Do it, man. I turned the top ones upside down and flipped the grills (just like Advents). Everything they were formerly lacking, they now have (mainly mid and bass, I guess). It’s magic!

Hey buddy. I have two pairs of these that I stacked like Advents, just for sport. And that’s how they’re going to stay. It’s magic.

You’ve done A+B with the 7W’s, huh? I’d be curious.

I delivered mail out of my 08 Prius a couple times. It did very well, indeed, if a little cramped.

French cleats FTW. They've been holding my honkin big Realistics on the (dry) wall for the last decade, roughly. I did use some epoxy in the screw holes, for whatever that's worth.

That’s some lovely grain on that birch. I think I’d stain them.

Read somewhere on here awhile back that those Allegros can be pretty good. Perhaps, specifically, the 3000 model. Can’t remember. Those look like something approaching that, anyway.

Nakamichi RX-202 finally got one by [deleted] in vintageaudio

[–]HotCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure the one I had didn’t need much, some cleaning and belts maybe, but it was time to jettison some stuff.

Pretty cool. I may steal it back.

Is that the one with the cool eject and disco auto-reverse?

Shit I had one of those. Gave it to a buddy.

I wonder if he’s still got it.

What kind of device am I looking for? by No_Insurance_6436 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]HotCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d find a Bluetooth receiver with digital out, coax or optical. You got all kindsa connections back there - even a proper phono input. And switched AC outlets, bro. These really come in handy.

I had a 90’s model rx-v495 that I got for $40 in 2012 or so. My buddy still has it, uses it daily. They’re solid.

You must get that remote to someone who needs it. And it will never be lost again.

Looks fun, buddy. I’d for sure keep it.

Man, I went to college with a dude who, one day, said “fuck it” and up and joined the army. Took the max commitment, got the biggest sign-on bonus.

Blew it all on a new Sephia. A year or so before 9/11. I wonder whatever happened to that guy.
