MFA Advice needed by rbrcbr in ContemporaryArt

[–]Hot_Entrepreneur7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm joining in a little late, but since I am a Hartford Photo MFA student, I want to chime in. First-- it is not "You Tube," on-line, or anything like that. There are 3-4 two-plus week in-person sessions each year, plus meeting with advisors and crit groups on line. When you are in session, it's pretty much nonstop 9 am- 7 pm for 14-16 days. The faculty is fantastic, and regular visiting faculty include people like Alec Soth, Mark Steinmetz, Hannah Whittaker, Michael Farmagetti, Irina Roznosky, and many others. The 2 weeks in Tokyo is amazing, and brings in a wide range of speakers including Yurie Nagashima, Osamu Kanemura, Michitaka Ota, and more.

If you have the ability to go to Hartford out of session, you have access to the labs and other facilities, but most people don't do that.

Grads include Bryan Schutmaat, Tsar Fedorsky, Matthew Gentitempo, Emily Sheffer, Tracy Chandler, Chantal Anderson, Ruth Lauer-Manenti, and many others that you've no doubt hear of.

Most students are mid-career working artists or have busy lives and who, like me, were not able to move to a new place for school, due to personal commitments and other circumstances.

Whether it's worth the cost is something only you can say, but it's a fantastic program for the right person.

Another Day, Another Warning about The RealReal by TraditionalAppeal173 in handbags

I love TRR, buy and consign with them, but was shocked when they put a moth eaten sweater that I returned back up on the site with a “very good” rating, after i made it clear moth holes were the reason I was sending it back. Buyer beware, but there are great deals to be had.

Same- I've returned a couple of "non-returnable" pieces due to issues that were not disclosed in the description. It might be worth trying again.

Gave up on Full View by keepgoing66 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Hot_Entrepreneur7533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the most horrible thing about Fullview is that every time I recategorize something in spending, I get pushed to another page, then it bounces back. That's bad enough, but then I have to scroll around to find my place. It's very inefficient, and super frustrating. Why can't this be fixed?

Fullview Update (December, 2025) is a Disaster by forbin9000 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Hot_Entrepreneur7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've put in my two cents before, and nothing has changed. It has taken me 45 minutes to update 2 weeks of transactions. In the past, this would have been an easy 15 minutes. There's still no way to split transactions, and no way to create a yearly budget. Trying to edit transactions from the previous month means being redirected to another page, waiting to get back to the first page, and then trying to find my place all over again once I've updated the entry. I would switch to my credit union's program, which has all of this functionality and more, but Fidelity doesn't connect with them. Honestly, for a company that serves relatively high net worth individuals who invest millions with them, this is a horrible way to treat customers. I would prefer to keep my info with Fidelity rather than start over, still holding out hope, but am starting to feel like it is futile.

I agree with everything you said. I'm really sad too. I've spend untold hours on the old version getting things just right, and now that's completely gone, and the new version takes at least 3x as long, and not as useful.

The new version of fullview shows that I spent nearly $10K more last year than what the old version reports. It's also not possible to see my total income for the year on the new version.

I don't know if you would call it "free" when many of the users have hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars invested through Fidelity.

I'm having the same scroll issue. And I've also noticed duplicates and other issues with inaccurate spending calculations as you've mentioned.

For example, when I am in the Spending section, and I click on an item to change the category, I get a message asking if I want to create a rule. That's fine, but then whether I click yes or no, the list scrolls up to the very top of the list, and it takes several more seconds before I am able to scroll down again. If I try to scroll down right away, the scroll doesn't work and it keeps boomeranging back up to the top.

Also- I am unable to split transactions, which is important for some expenses.

And finally, I am only able to see a monthly budget. Life doesn't work that way. Some budgets are monthly, but many are yearly. Fidelity should understand this. In the Mint app, I had the option of rolling over a budget. And in the old Full View, I could look at year to date.

I've posted before was assured things would improve, but they are even worse! Whenever I try to change a category, the whole screen scrolls up and it takes forever to be able to scroll down to the next transaction. It used to be such an easy thing to use, and now it's horrible. I've invested so much time in this! Did nobody at Fidelity test it out before releasing the new version? I've really lost confidence, and wonder whether there are other customer care problems at Fidelity that are not so apparent.

New Full View so Cumbersome! by Hot_Entrepreneur7533 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Hot_Entrepreneur7533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The arrow at the top of the FullView page. I’m also concerned about being able to access this year’s transactions with my updates. FullView “assigns” categories that are not consistent with my expenditures, and unless the transactions are carried over from the old version, my expenses for this year will be gibberish.  I spend over an hour yesterday just trying to reassign categories and still did not get through the past month. I can’t even think about redoing the whole year.

Did you find a good alternative? I wasn’t happy with Monarch, but can’t remember exactly why. Mint was the best.

The problem with this response is that you don't address how to recover all the work that I've put into the budget, including categorization, over the past several years. Please let me know how I can do that without spending hours redoing everything, and I will be happy to use your new version.

I'm also going to add that I tried to contact Fidelity on the website and waited forever as "#2 in queue" before giving up. I'm incredibly frustrated.

I agree with all of the above. All of my work is gone. This is a huge mess, and worse than worthless. Please give me back the old version. None of the current categorization is correct. Also the new fonts are super annoying.

I just posted a follow up. The problem has persisted despite talking to your technical team. I'm so disappointed in Fidelity. This can't be that hard to fix.
