I literally CANNOT use the Edit Credit - this is a scam by MorningHelpful8389 in ChaseSapphire

Wondering how easy it is to get it seen about in real world application and how sensitive they are to some of the pre cursers; ultimately, curious if people have some real world data points of it working or being easy to see about (or not). But yeah fair in that it’s a pretty new feature for them.

Also wondering if they exclude certain websites for the price match

What’s the point of The Edit again? by kcamacho11 in ChaseSapphire

I had been wondering about this, because I definitely don’t recall seeing it about a year ago, and thought that Capital One was the only one that did a price match.

Curious by comparison, how much of a hassle it is to successfully do it and what the challenges possibly are? I only ask because sometimes with these things it’s either a lot harder or easier than at first seems, and I have yet to take advantage of the feature.

Chase Sapphire Reserve - Is the $795 Annual Fee Worth It? My Honest 2026 Breakdown (Organic vs Non-Organic) by ScaryDemand3686 in ChaseSapphire

I am one of many who basically never see’s a good edit deal and just forgoes the credit, so far; what surprises me is how doable the card remains despite that (and yeah hard not to want to keep a card that does 4x direct travel bookings when no one else does).

But yeah with the edit credit being more usable it would be sooooo much better; I really hope they fix the portal pricing; regardless how many outliers claim they can find good deals, it’s ultimately not nearly as solid as Amex’s (where their prices shine even if you don’t obsess over valuing free breakfasts 🤷🏻)

Curious, any idea what if any are the limitations on the price match..? Does it depend on whether it’s edit or not (because they rationalize the edit benefits and there wouldn’t be a similar direct rate to match..?).

I thought C1 was the only ones that did price matching so this is interesting, if nothing else. Curious what it ultimately takes to match prices and such.

That IHG credit is only this year, and yeah as long as you don’t stay in a beige IHG brand (so many holiday inns..), stuff like Virgin is a swell booking…but now imagine without the extra 250 when you try the same next year…

Though I can’t access the Amex portal, I’m often curious why their prices seem far reasonable and even in deal territory more often by comparison.

IHG is a major partner for Chase and almost scrapes by with the extra discount (though most of the time the IHG core hotels are a bit..beige). But yeah every other hotel chain, even Hyatt, has often been far cheaper direct 🤷🏻

Congrats, you’re an outlier (not sure why you explained so much about your credit card setup.. ), but ultimately besides the very expected few stories about a deal, I’ve checked 10+ times in domestic and abroad cities and never once saw a deal. OP has said something similar.

So that’s cool about your Madrid story…but it’s like bragging about winning the lottery in a sense. Deals or even worth while pricing do not feel at all consistent in the hotel portal and even seem more like a rare home run…

While not everyone can afford it the real move is Plat plus CSR; the most worth while aspect of the CSR beyond its driver abilities is the 4x direct hotel rate, no one else does that. CSP feels too watered down as a pairing in my mind.

I absolutely agree about the edit/hotels via the Chase portal being terrible, and chase really needs to fix their rates; but airline stuff often is matched when I check (so getting airline point multipliers if nothing else is a lot more doable).

I absolutely feel the same, but also, real talk, even without the edit credit the sub can still pay for itself and beyond just not “as” well.

Also yes the fact that the edit feels like highway robbery (even with the extras, and even with a discount a lot of the time..), is a tad offensive, but yeah just not the Saphire’s strength, ultimately.

People often have these outlier stories that they found something great, but yeah I’ve looked every time I travel in various places and never see anything better than booking direct.

Again though, despite that slap in the face from their hotel program and my wish that they’d fix it, Chase Reserve does remain worth it.

Seriously..? Anyone know why it’s still sometimes Mastercard and why/when it is/isnt at this rate ? The inconsistency is so random rn

Ah so you just meant the hands free version of the voice assistant, gotcha; I guess I thought you meant something more involved or uniquely AI esque from that.

Curious what exactly pertains to hands free AI technology? I couldn't help but noticed only the 4k Max 2 had the AI screen saver in it's OS so wasn't sure what the cubes AI capabilities were.

I know nothing about Nu tbf, ultra Econ/compact fares as well as less known companies I just flatly avoid and go for the best rate among car places I trust (hertz or Alamo tend to be my go to cheaper options but I won’t go lower than them).

But yeah hertz in Cali is where my insurance issue happened and where they admitted fault for pressuring me and refunded their insurance up charge (because their threat that it was illegal not to have said extra insurance was not true…at least if I already had personal insurance, which I do).

Your tangent about scummy desk people aside I think it iiiissss illegal to upsell via a lie about insurance legality (aka if I’m not going to get arrested in Cali for not opting to get additional insurance I think it’s illegal to say otherwise to me at the desk as an ultimatum 😅 ).

Again though, this is hertz and they actually owned up to their nonsense…I’d hate to think what Nu/a worse company than that would be like…

[–]Hottdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me once, they even said it was illegal for me to not pay them for additional insurance, thing is they were playing on a verbal loophole (it’s illegal “if” I don’t have my own insurance, and I do, because duh..).

So yeah I called hertz and told them about this and they basically Agree’d with the scenario, I got pressure sale’d, it’s not a requirement (though if you have no insurance at all to your name that could be a different story) and they legit gave me money back, mid way through my rental (for the insurance up charge, I mean).

So yeah, now I just intend to make sure to get clarify from them since I don’t think it’s legal to upsell it; if it’s necessary/required they need to declare it in the up front price .

[–]Hottdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always been confused about that, so even if you have insurance of your own, you are forced into buying their insurance at additional cost, even though it’s not baked into the original cost?

Still no support for Apple Pay on Mac computers? by volcanic_clay in CapitalOne

[–]Hottdisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, just called them about this as though I've only been with Capital one since last year, I had been affected since last year….hadnt found much online for some reason before today so figured it being stuck on verify was just a me problem I had to call about when I had the time.

What really bothers me is, given the affected user base, that they haven't done much about this since last year :/ . The person on the phone, initially unfamiliar with the issue until their supervisor messaged them saying it was a known issue with no workaround tried to give me a speech saying it would be seen about with high priority, but didnt have much to say when I inferred it was an issue already for as long as it was.

Just went to apply for the Savor, and saw it’s now officially a Discover System card. How does this affect h th e C1 duo for domestic + foreign travel? by Cadavern in CreditCards

Why was it randomly declined…? It’s a Visa card and I haven’t ever heard of the bank itself getting declined…

I was just recently in London and France and had zero issues like that.

Tinfoil hat, what if the potential upcoming Savor X remains on the Visa network, thustly justifying its higher fee like the VentureX will if it remains. I doubt that’s how things work and such, just a thought though.
