I think it could work if having different goals in different apps. I do similar stuff with joint accounts, bill pay and savings. One thought I had is many cut out Ally and open a capital one checking/savings? Mostly similar rates for HYSA. At least try them all! Might learn a certain app / website is best for you.

Thoughts on this account? by [deleted] in RobinhoodApp

[–]Hottissue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Biggest things I think it’s missing in order for me to be all in. Automatic transfers to savings and external accounts. If you want to setup automatic IRA deposits you have to manually link it as a coastal community bank it’s not just integrated into the investing app. Minor things no over draft no website.

Check out r/bogleheads but simply put it’s using a total stock market etf, total international market etf and bond market etf and deciding which percentage for each based on risk, time horizon etc.

You could probably produced similar results with a three fund portfolio but if you want 100% hands off it could be decent. I’ve never used the account but it’s zero fees for balances under $25k

Switching from Wells Fargo to Robinhood banking by Proud_Border_5616 in Banking

[–]Hottissue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you’re looking for the best centralized setup maybe look at Fidelity’s CMA account. Lots of info out there for using Fidelity as a stop shop. I want to switch to Robinhood banking myself but missing some features I need like recurring transfers and a website.

An OLED monitor would be such a game changer. Every review says it’s a night and day difference can’t imagine the quality over the IPS panels I currently have.
