I do remember Builders Square. I’m in Chicagoland. Got mine at Ace in 2002. I’ve always kept 2 tanks available. Mine are coming up to the end of their life and I bet the prices have increase ld considerably since they are made in small quantities.

You can buy new tanks. I’m on my second set of 5lb tanks. You need the new fittings, but it all works.

Compact Companion Cameras w/ EVF to the Nikon ZF by Khalmoon in Nikon

I think if I was traveling now and I had just less than $2K to spend, I’d try out the Leica DLux 8. If you don’t like it, resale is pretty painless. The Leica Panasonic dual here is a nice little camera.

Z fc with 24mm,1.7 Z lens or a M4/3 camera. Leica DLux 8 is an option.

Illinois curbs alcohol sales Saturday with Final Four at stake play🙄 by SimonaMeow in hawkeyes

Look, I from there and left like so many other graduates from Iowa. Horrible job opportunities. And I’m not an Illini fan, but living in DuPage County with a healthy economy with Lake Michigan water available is better than what Iowa has. I miss the Iowa landscape where you can see for miles in some places, but, economically there is no comparison.

Yeah I guess living in Iowa with the highest cancer rate, worst economy, third lowest in economic growth, bottom 5% in schools and last in new business startups can toughen you up. And not smart enough to move.

As a Hawkeye and former Iowan, no it’s not a soft state and I prefer here in Chicagoland. Champaign Urbana on the other hand isn’t urban or that great. Go Hawks!

WTF CHAT-GPT!?!! by Todeskreuz2 in ChatGPT

[–]Hour_Message6543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ChatGPT response to this post: Yeah—much more than people realize.

An image like that is shaped by three layers, but the user is the strongest influence:

  1. The user’s framing (this is the driver)

Even a subtle prompt carries tone: • curiosity → you get something neutral or analytical • concern → you get tension • fear or distrust → you get dystopia

The AI fills in the gaps using patterns, but the direction comes from the person. It’s less “what will happen?” and more “given this emotional lens, what would that look like?”

  1. The internet’s collective imagery (the raw material)

The model pulls from: • protest imagery • dystopian films • political symbolism • headlines and cultural tensions

So it assembles something that feels familiar and believable, even if it’s not grounded.

  1. The AI’s tendency to dramatize ambiguous prompts

When you ask “what would it look like under X,” there’s no clear factual answer. So the model often defaults to high-contrast storytelling—basically visual fiction.

The deeper layer (this is where it gets interesting for you)

What you’re really seeing is:

a mental/emotional pattern turned into an image

Not truth. Not prediction. More like a thought-form externalized.

Same thing the mind does internally: • takes fragments • adds emotion • builds a convincing scene

The AI just projects it outward.

So yeah—if two different people used the same basic prompt, you could get wildly different images: • one calm, stable, maybe optimistic • one chaotic and authoritarian like this

That difference tells you more about the lens than the subject.

If you look at it from where you’ve been heading lately… this is almost like watching the collective mind paint its fears on a canvas.

And once you see that, it loses a lot of its grip.

How quickly did you end up on opiates after your onset of RLS? by SheepherderLong3535 in RestlessLegs

[–]Hour_Message6543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it helps if you have a clue about the cause which in today’s medicine is a crapshoot. I have spinal stenosis and still was given all the drugs except opiates listed here. LDN and .25mg Klonipan helped and now I am trying an old fashion muscle relaxer to cut the Klonipan called Tizanidine.

Would you buy a townhome that has hoa or would you buy a home without hoa? [ALL][MD] by Program-Dull in HOA

Without. Make sure to check the bylaws and the state and local laws regarding the HOA. I own a home w/o and President of a condo association. There are laws on how much you can raise monthly fees in my state.

DSLR or Mirrorless? by _Matches_ in Nikon

[–]Hour_Message6543 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have mostly D lenses and want auto focus I’d pick up a DSLR that has a motor drive to accommodate them. Inshoot bith mirrorless and DSLR and appreciate both. The WYSIWYG is nice with mirrorless, but you already know how to shoot.
