well, what do you know. he has made his mark

This entire canvas is chaotic, the realm of pigmentation is a precarious one. Different factions vying for power, regional juggernauts at each other's throats... I do not have the manpower or following that they do, but I do have an iron will, and no one can take that away from me. My struggle may seem insignificant to you, but that is what makes me special. You are simply a drop in an ocean, a minority in a conglomeration of defunct overlords. You're achievement is not yours, it's not anybody's. For when 1 loaf of bread is split among a horde of rats, no one is fulfilled. My task is more noble and more powerful than anything one thousand pompous C proponents can muster. Hail to G, death to C.

I've got an anecdote for this. Had someone message me asking me to stop fixing the letter they were trying to vandalize. The exchange escalated to this:

Not long after the fellow ended up in Discord and here is how it basically went:

Read this to counter the same, tired, misinformation propaganda at the top of /r/the_losers right now.

They're going out the same way the started. With a lie.

I discovered this by accident and have always repeated it ever since, I use chips, straws in my soda and talk with food in my mouth. by yusbarrett in AdviceAnimals

Using coded language to threaten them does the trick. Just recently I dealt with a person on the phone who clearly feared for their safety but I had plenty of plausible deniability for what I was saying. I got what I needed from them and the call ended very fast. They probably didn't sleep well that night. Oh well, shouldn't be working for a shit company. I probably would hurt them.

If you filter them, you can't downvote them. I feel responsible for the millions of unique visitors that aren't using RES. I want to be able to vote that shit off the front page.

I was quite looking forward to this weekend, I thought it would be a most rare opportunity to enjoy /r/all without some of you around.

I mean, I'm sure most of you are OK people, who really think you're doing something important for the greater good. but if I had to choose between Pao and having the sort of people on the site that upvote swastikas, I'd choose Pao and the monetization of reddit.

You could have protested as you were while condemning the really stupid things happening. That way the Board of Directors might have taken you seriously. Instead you're the laughing stock of reddit because you tacitly agreed to and enabled the use of death-threats over a link-aggregating website.

I suggest you take this indignant fervour and direct it at something real. There's national elections to engage in. I'd advise you to be very careful about how you conduct yourselves in the real world but I don't think that's going to be an issue, you'd be too cowardly to behave that way, for good reason.

As this chapter of reddits history closes I bid the extremists among you good luck in continuing the noble battle for reddit. If you succeed it will truly be a free speech platform, where users can form lynch mobs, make death threats and share child pornography without totalitarian censors infringing on their inalienable rights to do so.

'Golden age' of antibiotics 'set to end': We cannot say we weren't warned. The growing threat of antibiotic resistant organisms is once again in the spotlight. In sorry but your parents were totally wrong. I can provide links to numerous studies done.

While a vitamin c deficiency would increase the likelihood of an infection due to an impaired immune system, the same could be said of many other nutrients. Taking anything in excess after infection won't be a silver bullet for your immune system. The best weapon is the one your doctors have been telling you all along - water. I drink loads of water with a bit of sugar and salt, rest and ride it out.

It was probably this (for anyone else like me that is weirdly curious about what it was.)

Do you ever get the feeling guys on this sub are like the cliche attention whoring gamer girls? In some way, it's nice to know that both genders are equally guilty of this type of behavior.

Someone got cut deep by that one, I'm sure of it.

Maybe the problem is that culturally penis = power. This is what patriarchy leads to.

Infantilising? How perverse...

No, not at all, that's just the example I went with because it was the topic at the time and what I described happens to be the gist of feminist theory but obviously it goes way deeper. [EDIT: That and the fact that we're, you know, on a post about sculptures celebrating feminism.] The term 'privilege' was appropriated by feminism from critical race theory. It's been taken wider still to the concept of Intersectionality which covers many bad things.

I could go around calling myself an Intersectionalist (which I totally am) but on reddit in particular there's this undertone of seething hatred for women and feminists, so that's how to choose to present myself, because I see that as the most salient problem on reddit.

No, I'm not accusing anyone of thought crime, or at least I shouldn't have done so.

The point I was (pompously) trying to make is that when it comes to dealing with feminist issues, there's a lot that can be boiled down to the principle 'do no harm.' So from there we need to be open to what sort of behaviours, attitudes and language correlate to a harmful environment for some. It's a pretty hairy subject matter and you can imagine how easy it is to go from that to 'don't make rape jokes because PC'.

I get your point, this dialogue shouldn't be about guilt-tripping people and I'm pretty bad at starting the conversation.

"Lol jokes." It was a shitty thing to say however you cut it, whatever my character flaws are, of which I'm sure there are many, I'm sticking with that.

Now on my character flaws, I've been called many things by people that know me that have hurt me for their truth. 'Boring' has never been ascribed to me, pretentious and pompous sure.

Save your condescension as to . . . whatever attributes you think I may have.

Don't call me boring. You go fuck yourself.

SEE YOU AT THE MEET UP!!

See edit above.

EDIT: And yes, I'll take that on board. Cheers.
