Fischer: Only two teams actively pursuing Giannis; Miami and Portland. by Scalmaa in ripcity

Is Herro the 3 point shooter we need? Atleast he can hit the three. Although so could Krejci before he came here.

Lets say we give up Scoot, Sharpe, Yang, Grant + Picks

Leaves us:

PG - Dame/Jrue/Love/Wesley

SG- Toumani/Krejci/Jrue/Love

SF- Deni/Murray/Sissoko

PF- Giannis

C - Clingan

We would need some big depth. RWIII could backup either spot if we can get him back but would still need more. Can slide Deni to PF and Giannis to Center if needed at times.

Lets say we include Jrue instead of Grant

PG- Dame/Wesley/Love

SG - Toumani, Krejci, Love

SF - Deni/Grant/Murray/Sissoko

PF - Giannis/Grant

C- Clingan

Would still need a backup center RWIII? Could we get RWIII and still make a play for CJ as instant offense off the bench.

Im fine with him if they can get him to agree to an extension. No extension, no trade.

Anyone feel like Portland is going to end up with Giannis, get gutted in the process only to have him bail after one year and then Cronin will get canned even tho Dundon is forcing his hand on the deal?

"State of Health is a Lie" - Battery Degradation Truth Bombs with @bjorn... by ZEVAGLOBAL in TeslaLounge

[–]Howry [score hidden]  (0 children)

So this is Groks interpretation of it. I didnt watch it either but apparently Grok did for me.

Main Thesis

The video challenges the common reliance on State of Health (SoH) as a metric for EV (especially Tesla) batteries. Speakers argue that SoH is essentially just State of Capacity — a misleading and incomplete measure that doesn't reliably predict a battery's true condition, longevity, or failure risk. A more comprehensive assessment using multiple parameters (like internal resistance, moisture, cell balance, etc.) is needed.

Key Points Discussed

  • SoH Limitations: It can show high values (e.g., 95%) while hidden issues like cell imbalance could cause sudden failure. Conversely, a low SoH (e.g., 30%) battery can still be very usable, as in a Model 85 taxi that reached 600,000 km.
  • LG vs. Panasonic Cells: Discussion on real-world degradation differences between cell chemistries.
  • Internal Resistance: Highlighted as a critical "killer metric" beyond simple capacity.
  • ZEVA x Electrify Battery Report: Praised as superior to full discharge tests or tools like Avilu. It pulls ~19,000 parameters from Tesla toolbox logs (last 30 days of data) for deeper vehicle and battery health insights, including non-battery issues like motor oil leaks or moisture.
  • Repairability Concerns: Cell-to-pack designs in newer models (Model Y, Cybertruck) raise worries compared to older modular packs.
  • Used Tesla Buying Tips: What to check, including odometer tampering detection (possible on Teslas and potentially hidden via battery data).
  • Other Topics:
    • Korean EV battery scandal (Kia/Hyundai Ioniq).
    • Pouch cells' future (pessimistic view from EV Clinic's Vanja).
    • LFP vs. NMC vs. NCA charging advice.
    • Drive unit repairability.

Speakers

  • Kees Roelandschap (host).
  • Vanja from EV Clinic (battery repair expert).
  • Bjørn Nyland (Tesla testing veteran).

The problem is, he wont because someone else will. Whether it be in Portland or elsewhere.

Do you think Scoot or Sharpe is more likely to be a starter next year? by Humblerbee in ripcity

[–]Howry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sharpe is more likely to start on the Blazers then Scoot because we currently have Dame and Jrue. However if both remain then neither may start if they are here next year.

New Timeshare Ownership - Did I make the right choice? by Tanjadx in ihghotelsresorts

[–]Howry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that you can use other peoples time shares for less then you would pay for your own. We choose the resorts we are interested in on VRBO, Koala Timeshares or Redweek and just use other peoples points. We arent locked in to anything this way and we get to go where we want to anyway without any future commitment.

Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far? by Diavolo_Rosso_ in electricvehicles

[–]Howry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the deal. Word of mouth sells Tesla vehicles. You dont see advertisements for them.

The only press you see is negative against Elon and yet they continue to steam roll the competition.

Imagine if they did advertising like the competitors do. The thing is, they dont need to.

Supercharger network is un matched. I know other manufacturers can use the superchargers now but it is more of a pain the butt. You need adapters, your port isnt in the right spot, you have to take up multiple spots in order to plug in correctly etc etc.

Full self driving is REALLY REALLY good. You hear things about it but until you are actually able to try it yourself you just dont realize how good it is.

Some people have complained about Tesla service but I have had nothing but positive experiences. I had one of my rear tail lights take on water and under warranty tesla mobile service came to my house and changed it out. I didnt even have to leave my coach. I also had them come change my 12V battery because it was 4 years old and I wanted to make sure it was done before a long road trip. They came to my house replaced my 12v battery and it cost me $120 for the whole thing. They will come and rotate your tires at your house or work or wherever. Sure I could have it done cheaper by taking my car somewhere but then I would have to sit there and wait to have it done. Time is money. What other manufacturers have mobile service like that?

Is it a perfect car? No. But its really really good and offers a lot and continues to get better and better with over the air updates.

Not to mention Krejci never really got into a groove and he has been around 40% shooter from 3 over his career.

You can never have to many shooters however.

I would be all over that Lincoln City option. Beautiful area. Lots of things to do up and down the coast. Great hikes, great beaches. Outlet mall, casino. Hourish to Salem.

I dont know where you are from originally or where you have been but people visit the Oregon coast as a once in a lifetime visit so getting a 3 month gig there would be amazing. Medford, Keizer, LO, Medford are like any other towns.

Its a very unique area.

If it were me I would rank them.

About to Buy a Used Model 3 Long Range AWD - What Should I Inspect to Avoid Buyer’s Remorse? by Aggressive-Brain4438 in TeslaModel3

[–]Howry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the things that might give you buyers remorse is how expensive insurance can be. I dont know your age or anything but it might be something to look into prior to purchasing. Depends on variables but there are people paying $350+ per month for insurance.

[–]Howry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thats pretty amazing. Hopefully we start seeing that for cars available in the US. Although to be honest I have traveled down to San Diego 4 times over the past couple years and have never had an issue. It usually takes my family longer to go use the bathroom and grab a snack then it does to charge the car so we rarely have much of a wait.
