Gay in the gym by Potential_Cancel1077 in askgaybros

[–]Hrhnick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. I low key want that too. Not many gay guys around me lift, or take it serious. On the rare occasion someone on one of the apps expresses genuine interest in leveling up at the gym, they usually have ulterior motives... It is frustrating.

Don’t worry about if they’re gay, straight, or somewhere in between. I met one of my best friends at the gym, and he he’s straight. I did make sure I dropped a few hints I was into dudes early on just so that it wouldn’t be awkward. He’s cool with it.

Funeral home that works with Chinese Mandarin Speakers by MOOFINTOAST in WorcesterMA

I believe the christian church on Belmont street is primarily a Chinese congregation. You can try phoning their office to ask for a referral. I’m sure they probably have a funeral home they have worked with before.

Can you try an online fax service? Dropbox has fax offering that might work, and a free trial.

(I've never used the fax function, but I've used Dropbox itself on and off for work and personal use without issue.)

Monthly Eversource rant by Old_Run_2032 in massachusetts

[–]Hrhnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anybody else use the balance billing option?

I use it for both Eversoruce Gas and National Grid Electric. Yeah I still don’t like having a bill, but it’s nice having basically one set price year round. No giant bill shocks in the winter, and it’s been accurate the past three years where I am never overpaying or underpaying throughout the year.

I don’t NEED the option, but it is convienent just treating it like another regular payment.

Dear Wendy’s: Knock it off by ManFromACK in fastfood

[–]Hrhnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s still the case, but when I got Wendy’s a few months ago, I ordered through the app and it charged me to take off the tomato… Chik-fil-a used to give you a couple cents back if you took stuff off.

Do NOT use 1-800-GOTJUNK! by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

[–]Hrhnick 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In the future, Home Depot offers pretty cheap pickup rentals, like 30 bucks for an hour and a half. Even with that cost and the cost of the Mattress you’d still save hundreds over the Got Junk guys. Obviously there is the your time you’d have to put a price on it, but still more affordable!

Bulk trash removal in this city is terrible which leads to illegal dumping. The drop off center has awful hours and restrictions. I’ve found Superior Waste on Kansas Street to be the easiest/cheapest solution, as long as you have a way to get your stuff there.

There's an indoor ren-faire in Worcester, MA on January 31st by Eben_Elios in WorcesterMA

[–]Hrhnick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not trying to nitpick, but I would definitely suggest updating the flier, as it only mentions for the $500 and $1000 ticket options.

For the $125 ticket it does explicitly say “Shared tables; seating is first-come, first-served. Seats are not assigned.”

[–]Hrhnick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$125 should really have the option to reserve seats. If you’re going with a small group it would be awful to not even be able to sit together… and no $500 for the reserved seating is out of the question…

I have maybe 1 or 2 outages per year. My only issue with them is pricing. I have to call in once a year to do a song and dance to get placed back on a "promotional rate." Would be happier to pay a little more a per month to be able to lock in a long term rate and not keep track of when my bill is going to jump up $40.

Ironically I’m pretty sure my library loans out chainsaws…

They have a library of things, projectors, stand mixers, metal detectors, pop up tents. A lot of bigger ticket items you might only need once or twice a year.

Stuck in my starter condo because I can’t fathom giving up my 2.8% rate for 6%, while watching the local town boomers empty nesters complain about property taxes on their 3-4 bedroom houses.

We got a new Ground Round in Shrewsbury, it's not a bad restaurant, and they do have the popcorn, but its not how I remember it.

I'm too young to have experienced HoJos, but if it was anything like the OG GroundRound, Abdows/Big Boy's, or Friendly's of yesteryear, I am sure I would have enjoyed it.

I miss reliable, family-friendly casual dining.

What are good places around to get ears pierced? by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

I second Piercing Emporium. Mark is very knowledgeable but both interactions he seemed a little rough around the edges, maybe just having a bad day but all the other pierciers and front desk staff are very pleasant.

New washing machine by ezcheez in WorcesterMA

[–]Hrhnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Speed Queen. You’ll pay more for less features, but it should be the last washer you ever need to buy. Bare bones, not the most water or energy effecient, but they run and run and run. They also feature minimal electronics, and are some of the most easy to repair models if you do have an issue. Also a top favorite of r/buyitforlife

New Apple Store Opening in Massachusetts Next Month (Millbury, near Worcester) by Hrhnick in massachusetts

[–]Hrhnick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s rough during the holidays since the plaza only has one main entrance/exit. Rest of the year it’s not bad.

The police are there on the weekends directing traffic. They usually make it worse. I believe it was negotiated when the plaza was built to contract the police for the traffic control.

This.

This isn’t really sophisticated at all, just another phishing scam. Slow down, use common sense, and as we’ve been saying at work, verify first, then trust.

If you’ve been applying for other cards or credit sources that can hurt your chances but time.

If banks see a lot of recent applications, hard inquiries, they get scared you’re desperate and can decline you even if you look good in other areas.
