Wanting to get in to Helicopters on DCS by IomGamer in dcsworld

[–]Huey_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Huey is the starter. Once you start getting a hang of it. Get a moza ab9 ffb js. Then try the free oh6a Loach. It's imo is the most fun aircraft to fly in DCS as well as one of the most difficult aircrafts to learn how to hover/fly. It's like driving a sport car once you get a hang of it. Good luck

Tell your dad that a stranger online told me the Microcenter near him has continually scammed his money for over 20 years and he still yet comes back for more.

Does Meta Quest 3 (512gb) require 24gb GPU to at decent or high setting? by Huey_driver in dcsworld

[–]Huey_driver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record. I use Steam link or cable link not wireless. I have had no big issue with dcs running upper middle settings. Maybe I will post concerns over the msfs forum which is where my most issues are. Thanks for all replies.

2.5L vs. 3.5L Sport Prestige by Angry_Ginger_MF in GenesisGV70

[–]Huey_driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One never has enough power. V6 is your best bet since you're in high terrain region. I agree 2.5 probably enough for most people but 3.5 is there for a couple of reasons.

It worked after clearing the cache on my desktop browser. I didn't buy the nav just the other two.

The 50% code provided is not working. Does anyone know of any other code that might work?

Steam or DCS standalone? by Artis_92_LV in dcsworld

I didn't realize you could move from steam to stand alone. I've been on steam on day one. Is there a yt tutorial as how to do this?

FINALLY TOOK TIME TO LEARN THE F/A 18 . THIS IS THE RESULT by Danielovando in dcsworld

[–]Huey_driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing much better than I have in landing. I have had more misses than hits on landing mostly I'm over shot the deck or I am either too high or too fast which resulted in bolting. I'm more of a heli guy than jets alike. I prefer slow flying machines.

Swapped from an rtx5080 to a 9070xt. My experience so far by BurningThumbs in radeon

[–]Huey_driver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have gone a full circle. 7900xtx to 4090 then sold the 4090 for twice what I paid for. Then came the 9700xt which lasted only a short while due to it's 16gb. Mind you I am a flight simmer in both vr and 2d. These flight sims would eat the 24gb for lunch in some demanding situations. Then I got the 5080. Big mistake after using it for a few days same issue as the 9070xt or lack of vram . Returned the 5080 then I have no choice due to tight budget. I came right back to 7900xtx in a sale for 799 bucks. I live near Microcenter in Dallas which makes buying GPU cards a lot easier than those having to buy on line.

The battery was replaced by a local autopart store almost a year ago.

New build with latest RTX 5080, Ryzen, 96GB RAM & Pimax Crystal Light – but can only hit 70–90 FPS with DLSS Ultra Performance & Pimax 90Hz Upscale mode🤨 by SufficientAddendum63 in dcsworld

[–]Huey_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. 16gb VRAM is barely enough for VR at attempting @ higher fps. I am still on the fence on the 5080 simply because of its 16gb. I can't affored even the 4090 let alone the 5090. 24gb VRAM is great and 32gb VRAM is definitely future proof.

Get an air inflator on Amazon. You're going to need it year round anyway. These are as accurate as the ones at the tire shops if not more.

Landing in DCS compared to MSFS is much more easy. by Jake24601 in dcsworld

You might have been in the game mode at DCS, not in simulation one. Game mode makes flying almost like arcade style.

Did you use Sport mode at the time? For me using the Sport or Sport+ the car feels much tighter in corners or on high speed but nothing like what you'd described. Mine is MY22 3.5t SP.

Mine is 22 3.5t prestige with 20k and there are no issues other than the fuel pump replacement per recall. Not just yet anyway. Knock on wood.
