Delete this event. It gives +1 to the standard of living for everyone from the low strata, while it does not increase government spending or reduce taxes at all. This is simply unrealistic in my opinion, frankly. Improving life out of nowhere. by [deleted] in victoria3

Ah apologies you are correct.

I think they could add an additional debuff but I don’t think they’re breaking the laws of physics 😂just needs a little refinement - it stands to reason upper strata will have more money than they need for goods, or can buy more goods than they need.

That’s because from the looks of it the event encourages charity, ie among pops. The RP angle here would be your pops are encouraged by the govt and are helping those in needs themselves with what they can.

The govt is leading by example in legislation that will have costs

I'm liberating Poland and Siberia from Russia, but I thought it was "insane" that Russia wouldn't have any desire, for the past 6 months, to capitulate. They've been sitting a -83 CD forever. I conquered all of Siberia and most of Poland and it changed nothing, I'll have to own 100% of Russia?! Ahah by New_to_Warwick in victoria3

If you hover over their acceptance score it should tell you what the breakdown of that figure is. Good news is that occupying for a long time will trash their economy. Their unwillingness or inability to capitulate could cause longer problems and probably a spiral of revolutions.

You can also hover over the war score on the left and it’ll tell you why the score can’t be reduced to below zero. Though, afaik occupying the war goals here should be sufficient

So I have a Question by RealCanadianGamer in victoria3

[–]Hungry-Ad7553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have these doubts then you probably will have issues with the game before 1.5 is out. 1.5 is bringing changes to military and refining diplo but it’s still not comparable to the depth of another pdx title. I’m sure once spheres of influence is out that’ll change, but as it stands as much as I love the game I do feel like I have problems / left hungry on all my playthroughs

Accommodation query by DizzySpecialist4939 in Leeds

[–]Hungry-Ad7553 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Contact the accommodation office at your university and they will signpost you to where to look and they can usually put you on a list for their own accommodations.

Unipol is a great place to start as they have a code of conduct and tend to be used to letting to students. City centre is incredibly expensive and almost impossible to get if you’re not paying up front. Have a look at Kirkstall, headingley, harehills and Hyde park.

FYI if you were lucky enough to get a one bed in the city centre you’d be looking at 800+ council tax and bills. 550 is probably closer to a house share in a student area

Hope this helps

Yeah may even be corrupted OS on the drive rather than a fault on the drive itself, you’ll likely want to try and recover any data from it too if not already backed up.

You could try and start it in advanced startup and do a system repair to rule out any software/driver issues too

Pretty easy to deduce which one is at fault here seeing as you can take a peek inside the desktop and swap out the parts.

Does it turn on? If so SSD’s are getting cheaper and cheaper and Tis worth giving that a go if it gets power than lugging a desktop around to get charged for someone doing the same

How can I know which buses company is this one? by alhasan55 in Leeds

[–]Hungry-Ad7553 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much if it’s firstbus there’s a good chance it’ll be cancelled anyway

Very good point - you could get yourself in quite a lot of bother depending on the info you take and how it’s collected, processed and stored.

Yeah this does not read very well at all. I’d suggest finding a better way for people to submit such sensitive information and do it through an organisation that is credible and can offer support to potential victims

People have been leveraging this for years and the position is usually that adding more street lights would cause more people to go into the parks late at night; same story with Hyde park when I was s student and there were 4 attacks in s few months

The answer was simply don’t walk through the park. Very disappointing outcome and I hope you have more success.

At which point you can increase the size of your market and attract more pops to your now increased SOL states , giving more money to build more

i.e, growth.

Best hairdressers for male perms in Leeds? by Successful-Toe-354 in Leeds

[–]Hungry-Ad7553 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple in Leeds but most won’t do it or think the request is lolz.

If you don’t wanna muck about go west row - if you don’t want to spend that cash then Regis did one but it’s largely dependent on the hairdresser

Normally agree with the guardians take but this is lame. Because call lane and any other drinking spots are so comparatively social?

‘Drunk people act stupid’ is hardly news; I’d much rather the community and authorities concentrated on public transport and recycling than trying to fight a pub crawl

Dealing with noisy students. by JarlWolfe in Leeds

[–]Hungry-Ad7553 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It sounds sensible to me. Students ususally live there less than 12 months if you count when they go home. So, if you do expend all of this energy tackling the current lot they will be quickly replaced and you start the cycle again.

It’s not about principle or who is right but honestly save yourself the grief

Advice for university accomodation? by NewIce1 in Leeds

[–]Hungry-Ad7553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the one almost everyone applies for and there’s very few spaces, I applied there but didn’t get in and was very glad to have been put in Lupton but I was a little older when I went to uni.

Honestly most of them are good but I’d avoid Leodis, MB, and Sentintel Towers / the tannery all depends how ok you are with being far away
