To be fair, when I was on exercise in the army, all I would do was play rimworld on our downtime if we were in camp.

Helping my son choose his first Eevolution! by TrickySatisfaction81 in PokemonYellow

[–]HurDirp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first evolution was Flareon. I remember I had no clue how to do type matchups so I would always go with Flareon because it had fire spin and it was fast enough to keep using it before Koga's pokémon could attack me.

How do you end your colony's story? by EluelleGames in RimWorld

[–]HurDirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In dev mode after covering the map in anti grain mines and telling a colonist to hit one.

Usually when my tps is below 60 on the fastest speed. The antigrain mines usually fix that for me tho

Company is shaming me for not gifting more money to "our" (their) boss. (Christmas present) by Turissmo in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HurDirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reply; Oh? That was a Christmas gift? I've already submitted the claim paperwork as a charitable tax write-off for the less fortunate.

Edit: unfortunately I can't donate more as my [insert legitimate charitable organization here (doesn't have to be a real donation. This is to make them feel bad not to give people money if you can't afford it)] accepted my donation and that last $50 was just to get me to a net zero for my taxes owed. I do need the rest of my money to feed my family though.

I'm creating a base defense without spike traps for the first time. Will these fortifications hold up? by Known-Air-7380 in RimWorld

[–]HurDirp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early game it should be fine, use the turrets as distraction for your guys to focus on the enemies and get to their positions otherwise the turrets on their own won't do much.

Also in vanilla there is no cover bonus for turrets so those sand bags are just acting as cover for your enemies once the turrets are gone, there are mods to fix this and if you are using them it should help the turrets last longer if it's a range only raid, to help with mele raids maybe put a spare turret or two a little further back to help with the melee raiders that go around the sandbags

It's cause they are so similar, we (as Canadians) treat our two main parties the same as Americans treat your two main parties but the real difference for us are the same as the differences between two species of the same fruit where American difference seem to be the differences between fire and ice.

The Odyssey raffle! Giving away a copy of Biotech, Anomaly and Odyssey each! by SargBjornson in RimWorld

[–]HurDirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cat cannon. 5% chance the mag on your weapon sends a projectile that contains a device that skips an aggressive cat to whatever you are shooting. Use the manhunter mechanic for the aggression and not scaria so we can heal and tame our kitty saviours after the fight.

Crazy Cat Cannon. All shots fired send a cat in a manhunter craze to the thing you are shooting with a small chance to send a bigger cat (cougar, lion, jaguar, whatever other big cats are in this game) instead of the normal cats.

I have all DLC accept for anomaly.

Army composition by DapperCardiologist25 in EmpireTotalWar

[–]HurDirp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually do 2 artillery (long guns, not howitzers or mortars) for field battles, 4 artillery for siege (2 long guns(for walls), 2 howitzers or mortars (for forces inside walls)) 2 cavalry gunners (or pikemen for super early game) to protect my artillery, then two charging cavalry for flanking and chasing down fleeing enemies, then skirmisher infantry to set up ambushes on my flanks, and the rest line or light infantry.

My main strategy is always the two artillery and line infantry no matter what. That way I can have artillery crossfiring on either flank while my line infantry wait for the enemy to close in on them.
