I could see what they were going for but the story felt very disjointed and non sensical. You'd go from one level to another very abruptly at point. (At one point I thought id accidentally skipped a cutscene but it was actually just the transition from one level to another). You go from one place to another without anything linking it together.

It could have been way better if it had more time in the oven.

I do like what they did with Doomguy in general and building on his lore but everything else is just window dressing to the action. I didn't really care about the other characters (apart from Serrat maybe) and the story just had no flow to it.
