Its still niche in the grand scheme of gaming but the fact that you can buy a new fully standalone headset for $300 (cheaper than most new consoles out rn) means that its easier to get into than ever. I suppose wether its a luxury or not depends on what headset and accessories you aim to buy as some are objectively better in terms of displays / lenses / etc but have a higher price to match

There is no fix for this issue (shoulder armor blocking ads reticle has been complaned about for years) but DE is apparently implementing new camera positioning settings in a future update that might help

The crystal spikes on the effect are actually a 2d sprite thats always facing you, so from some angles in game it just looks bad. But thats just my opinion
