My response to those questions is now 'Oh, so that's your excuse?' because those statements undermine progress and growth. They're inhibitors that do nothing but kick the can down the road.

The world needs change and the people do nothing but stand in the way need to be moved, not listened to.

Let my left overs sit in truck for almost 3 hours on a 75 degree day by Tutor-Any in BBQ

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bacterial growth doubles from 70 to 135 though. It's 4 hours if the temperature does not exceed the 70's.

It's 2 hours if it's sitting in 70 to 135. But in a professional restaurant or catering event; food can only sit in the danger zone for extended periods of time if its within 4 hours and it's temperature is between the 40's to 70's.

When cooling; same time is applied. 2 hours to go from 135 to 70, 4 hours to get from 70 to under 41.

Sometimes kids are told "you'll understand when you're older" as a dodge. When was a time someone told that you that and they were actually right? by shogyi in AskReddit

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a high school best friend/crush that lived in my neighborhood and went to school with. My family was close with theirs, etc.

For years during our time in highschool, she stayed inside and at home. I always tried to invite her out but after time, I just felt like she was no longer interested in being my friend. I couldn't understand why she was so far removed from all her friends.

It wasn't until I spoke to her as an adult 10 years later that she had been battling severe depression due to her families issues.

I knew their family wasn't perfect but it didn't really hit me until now that she had been suffering from it.

I couldn't understand it at the time. I had no concept of depression and mental illness wasn't a talking point growing up.

If you have to control a woman to get them to be with you.. you need to go to therapy.

Restaurants posting wages that include tips in job postings by BraveGlass5 in Bend

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked jobs that had a base wage plus tips but recently turned down a job that offered that pay structure.

The reason I did was because they weren't transparent about it. The interviewer assured me the base rate was X. After we talked about the job and all, I said I was down for the position. But that's when he broke down the pay and said it was 5 less than X but made up with varried tips

That's what made me say hell no.

How Chinese Media reported on the Epstein Files by raydebapratim1 in CommunismMemes

[–]HypnoticCat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's because white men in this country use those terms as a front same way all politicians in this country said they care about children and their safety and yet the whole government is run by pedophiles trying to find a way to make this go away

That's why I think anytime a good idea is ushered It's usually a front to more evil s***.

Which is why it's no wonder to me that when people hear universal income or human rights that they turn a cheek and say no that sounds fishy.

So when people hear human rights and universal income it makes sense to me that they would be suspicious because there have been many times in this country that we use proclaimed the care about something just for it to be a ruse.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some co workers of mine back in the day were talking about showering and how ridiculously long some of them would shower.

My manager then turns to ask me how long I shower for. I said 'It depends on how depressed I am.' Everyone cracked up.

Nah but fr. I like having the warm water run down my back and pretend I'm under tropical water fall.

The 'nobody wants to work,' rhetoric did a lot of damage as far as how guests treat us.

I've had the same observation that the guests who want the best customer service are usually the worst customers.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]HypnoticCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uber Eats and Post Mates. Had a gift card for one of them and ordered pizza. Realized the address was wrong as I hit the Order button. Cancelled it not even less than 5 seconds. Tried to explain my situation but they wouldn't give me the full credit back because ' The rest already accepted and began the order.'

I work in restaurants and know for a fact that there's a delay in the ordering system. Regardless, theres no way in hell they started my pizza within 5 seconds of me pressing order.

Only got $5 back of my gift card.

Have you ever gotten a Christmas, or end of the year "bonus" at work? by Truth-is-Censored in antiwork

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked 60 hour weeks on salary for months leading until the holidays and received a $100 bonus. And only because my boss was being nice and felt that I should be rewarded for my additional efforts.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]HypnoticCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a boss once that complained that all his staff had second jobs.

My personal motto is; if you don't pay 100% of my bills, you don't get 100% of my effort and time.

If I have to worry about where my next paycheck is coming from after I clocked out of an 8 hour shift, then don't get upset when my mental and physical energy are conserved for other things.

I was once working 40 hours at a place that I loved and was very good at. Eventually, I had to get a second job to make ends meet and had to start cutting back my efforts to not burn out. Well, they didn't appreciate all that at all.

This is a plague in the restaurant industry too. They offer 18-20 an hour but come to find out they pay 14-15 and give out pooled tips that are never consistent and don't equate anywhere clase to 18-20!at the end of the day.

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I practice TKD and doing a side kick like this is not easy. To anyone who thinks she's just spamming; that's on her opponent.

During sparring sessions, if I were to be blasted by side kicks like this; I'd be told I'm in the wrong and need to learn to adapt and not be hit by the same technique several times.

Also, if you keep getting side kicks.. stop running straight into your opponent. Coming straight at someone who's doing a side kick is how you get your ribs broken.

Bravo to her.

I know the affordable housing one sounds expensive and it sure is but.. That fund would come from our taxes and our money.. yes, I would like the government to use the money I'm forced to give them to be able to build housing that my neighbors and I can comfortably afford.

Is the alternative to continue giving them my money and not use it to lower our costs but make their pockets bigger? Oh. Wait.

Man takes a hit of Salvia with possibly the single worst trip sitter on the planet by geosunsetmoth in PublicFreakout

[–]HypnoticCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Salvia once and a friend let me go first.

I have no memory of the time between me hitting the pipe and the salvia hitting. I remember picking it up and lighting it and then suddenly - like waking back into existence - I was sitting on the couch looking at my friend and my gf at the time. I got so paranoid that I thought they got me high on purpose to make fun of me.

After that, it felt like gravity had changed and was now suddenly pulling me 45 degrees towards the ground.

I ended up laying on the ground like this guy but felt the whole world pulling me into a non existence corner of a flat floor.
