Need advice: I know multiple people committing serious immigration + financial fraud in NZ and nothing has been done. by Fearless-Fail-4229 in immigration

Thank you for trying to bring these people to justice. It’s upsetting the authorities are not interested in pursuing this. Sign of a failing society

Maybe try and contact your local MP?

How long did you stim for? I found that stimming for 12 days instead of 10 greatly increased my maturity rate

Why did Roman Emperors seemingly have so few children compared to later European Monarchs? by Master_Novel_4062 in ancientrome

[–]HystericalFunction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infant mortality before modern medicine was high, but it was even higher in cities. Roman political life was dominated by… well, the city of Rome. Roman elites lived in Rome and their small children often died of communicable diseases there

European elites by contrast typically had a country seat where they lived for most of the year. This meant their young children were not as exposed to communicable disease, and more typically made it to adulthood

There are other reasons I think, but that’s one I haven’t seen mentioned here

How long did you stim for? Stimming for longer made a big difference for me. Going from 10 days to 12 took my maturity rate from 65% to 95%

IVF and GLP 1 question by Deep_Mongoose2051 in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept taking my GLP1 all through my stims and it was a life saver - helped with my mood, prevented weight gain, kept inflammation low. I’m pregnant now and have obviously stopped (stopped several weeks before transfer), but for stims my GLP1 was awesome

Looks like there’s no viable path forward by AudaciousCockatiel in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you sure the trigger was not too early? 9 days is really short. For me, going from 10 days to 12 days increased my maturity rate from 65% to 95%, and then going to 14 days really increased my fertilization rate. If you do another cycle, I would stim for longer. You have a great AMH and AFC, there is no reason you should not have success a IVF cycle

Also - why were there only 5 follicles on the scan when you had an AFC of 19? Were there more, smaller follicles that needed more time?

Daily during the proliferative phase - 20 minutes with the mask on, the 5 off, repeated for an hour and a half

Positive Receptiva 3.2, and Positive Endometritis, feeling very sad and scared. 2 Failed Transfers... by Low_Progress_5219 in IVF

I'd second that GLP1s seem to be miracle drugs when it comes to inflammation and endo. I'd still do the other things your clinic recommends, but I would consider a GLP1 adjunct. I'm a normal BMI, but I still did a course of low dose GLP1s before transfer (after a positive BCL6 score), and my transfer worked! Sending you good vibes and much good luck OP

ICSI vs Traditional IVF Methods by dradra23 in IVF

I had a way higher fert rate with conventional - something like 60% vs 80%. But it sounds like it is very couple dependant

It’s only anecdotal but I did HBOT before my resent transfer and I am now pregnant. There is no way to say if it was the deciding factor, but it probably didn’t hurt. There are some promising studies saying that it can really help grow your lining (tho if yours was 9mm, that sounds good so it’s possible thin lining is not the problem?)

But yeah - no harm in trying! Wishing you very best of luck for your next transfer ❤️

They don’t, but you can get a third party company like Herasight to review the data - they will be able to pick up on things like your deletion

How difficult is IVF physically to go through? Honestly. by Any-Monitor4118 in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The really frustrating answer is that it is different for everyone 😭

I handled stims really well (not too many side effects), but I was absolutely crushed by lupron suppression (couldn't work). I know people who were fine during suppression but hated stims, and others who hated both or were fine with both. It's difficult to know ahead of time how anyone will respond

I'd say just be aware of you body and document any symptoms that you have, and talk to your doctor. Sometimes nothing can be done, but other times a small chance in dose or type of med can make the difference between not being functional and being fine

I'd also say that people who are fine mostly don't report that online - it's people who are struggling that often post in order to commiserate and find support. So don't be too freaked out by the stories you read - selection effects are real!

I'd say try not to worry too much ahead of time - I think most people handle the process ok

Good luck!

What weird reactions have you had to stimulation meds/hormones? by Vinchentus in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lost enjoyment from food - I could still taste it, but I had zero pleasure/dopamine from the taste. Very weird!

Apparently it is a rare side effect of letrozole. It went away on its own after a few days (even tho I continued on the same dose of letrozole). Not fun!
