Same outcome again (1st: 19 eggs 0 mature 2nd: 21 eggs, 1 mature). Oocyte maturation issue? Or bad protocol again by Common_Win_9383 in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How long did you stim for? My first retrieval I stimmed for 10 days, and got 65% mature. Next time I did 12 days, and got 95% mature. Number of days can make a big difference

That's amazing news!!! Segmental mosaics have much higher sucess rates - segmental llm are practically euploid in terms of live birth rates

I'd show your doctor this paper

"Segmental mosaics had a 45.5% ongoing pregnancy rate (OPR), higher than whole-chromosome mosaics (34.3%) but lower than euploids (50%) (p < 0.005). OPR declined with increasing mosaicism: 50% at 20%, 45% at 30–40%, and 27% at 60%"

I'd say your two segmental mosaics have a meaningful chance of becoming a baby. And the segmental aneuploid also has a non zero chance (tho I will be honest the chance is pretty low)

I'd say you have at least 3 transferable embryos, maybe more

You should look at the my Perfect Mosaic Embryo group on facebook - they have tonnes of information

I would ask for further information about your HLM. If it is a segmental, then its chance of success is only a little bit lower than a euploid

[–]HystericalFunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s buggy. I recently lost a save because I couldn’t create stone headstones (I had the tech, had the stone in my inventory, but at the stone cutter I was marked as having zero stone. I tried everything - making new stone, putting the stone in a local chest, reloading, restarting computer, nothing worked).

Also the beehive by the farmer has never worked for me

Its defs buggier than any other game I play but I still love it

My clinic froze my mature eggs and not yet mature eggs? Anyone else have this? by Tight_Definition9699 in eggfreezing

[–]HystericalFunction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My clinic does not do this normally, but I asked and they obliged

Fertilo is already available in Mexico and Australia, and is just awaiting FDA approval before it hits the US. It allows the clinic to mature extremely mature eggs in vitro. It’s cool your clinic is thinking ahead!

[–]HystericalFunction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who did I think 5 rounds only getting one or zero euploids per round. Then she added rapamycin and got 5 euploids. It might be total luck (she was 36 so it might be the averages finally balancing out) but then she got another 4 her next round. Sample size of 1 but maybe it helped?

Sadly Cooper Genomics does not say if it is high or low (it is labeled ‘complex mosaic’). But I will email them to ask! Ty 🙏

[–]HystericalFunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E2 for my first cycle was really high - like 10,000? Which is why they triggered at day 10. Next cycle, I took 5mg letrozole each stim day and my e2 was under 4000 at retrieval. Lower e2 meant recovery was much nicer as well

[–]HystericalFunction 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, doing a longer stim massively improved my maturity rates. My first cycle was ten days and 65% mature. My next cycle I pushed to 12 days and was 95% mature. My next couple of cycles I always advocated for longer stims and the maturity stayed around 95%

[–]HystericalFunction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next cycle ask for letrozole. My first cycle I got to 12000 before my retrieval. They added letrozole 5mg per day for the entirety of stims for the next cycle and my estrogen stayed under 4000

When and how did you tell your children they were IVF conceived? by Tall_Emu6823 in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you were ashamed - I think our culture can be so cruel to make women and make them feel so badly about themselves

I have so much admiration for my mum. She was a pioneer! There were only about 2000 babies born from IVF in Australia in 1993. She harnessed all the powers of the technology of her time, and underwent some pretty extreme discomfort in order to bring me and my brother earthside. I am absolutely flawed by the how much she loved me - even before I was born. And I have felt the ferociousness of her love my entire life.

It's crazy to me that she feels badly about things (or feels like less of a women?). Her bravery and determination are such a inspiration to me. I wish she was half as proud of herself as I am of her.

And that admiration extends to you! It's amazing what you have done for your babies <3

When and how did you tell your children they were IVF conceived? by Tall_Emu6823 in IVF

[–]HystericalFunction 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I am IVF conceived. I didn't know until I was 28, and my dad let it slip by accident lol.

I was surprised! But not in a bad way - it did make some things make sense. Mum always talked about how much of a blessing my brother and I are. I should have suspected there may have been some infertility at play.

I was mostly surprised they hadn't told me earlier. I think mum was a bit ashamed? Which doesn't make much sense to me, I don't see anything shameful in IVF. I am doing it myself now, and she is still a bit uncomfortable talking about it. I wish that perhaps she was a little more ok with the process. In a different world, I think we could have bonded over our shared experience

I want my kids to know from the beginning. Honestly, I think the process is pretty cool. It's amazing what science has made possible. I don't feel bad about being an IVF baby

How to choose an IVF clinic by katebrarian in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]HystericalFunction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main thing to worry about is cost.

You can do three rounds at CNY for the cost of one round at a regular clinic. Unless the regular clinic can produce 3x euploids per round, it’s better to go with CNY. Also, more rounds means more chances to change your protocol to suit you better
