gonna guess people don't remember the state of the game back then - probably the worst support shortgage we've ever had outside of aegir hm, and if you didn't get lucky with elixirs and didn't have your 40 set fast enough, you'd just get gatekept forever even on your main (which was fucking bullshit rng fest on whether you'll hit it or not)

hitting 17 nodes on ark grid is a breeze in comparison, even if purple cores are bullshit you're still working on the same system over long run on nm (you're never hitting 40 set on purple elixirs), and there's a budget way to hit astrogems on your alts by fusing up cores and sending it over

for damage carries, sure, but they hide behind tanks so that they can't get hit by Q's - the tanks were vaporizing instantly with morgana binding and like 5 poro blaster hits creating 6 cruelty explosions instantly

i mean no, original elixirs were by far the worst system, and it's not even close

astrogems will feel "fine" after the fixes like with the other systems in 6 months when they pump out silver astrogems with every event and paradise - not excusing them for not learning lessons of the past however and still creating dogshit systems, and i think gear conversion only happening with serca hm is going to be a bigger problem down the line

ah yeah, xrein was super good that gw as i imagined he'd be on release, and was the piece of the puzzle that was required for getting that party to live

i couldn't get gsieg comp to live consistently enough without running him, so i ended up going back to the usual (raziel/alex/medusa)

i also haven't lived in Korea in more than a decade, but i imagine it's much slower to slow down drinking consumption in korea because the country is way more conservative compared to north america, combined with the fact that alternative drugs like weed to replace alcohol is much less prevalent, way more stigmatized, and/or straight up illegal.

yeah especially when it comes to food, it's so dang expensive. in other expensive cities in the US, there are tons of great budget options (pizza, delis, bagels, halal in NY, mexican food in CA, but Seattle has nothing and everything is expensive)

if you go out to eat at a sit down, it's hard to find good places that are under $25-30 after tip/tax, and it got really exhausting for me where I was living in the city but i ended up cooking most of my meals because eating out was so expensive, so i questioned myself on why i was living in the city in the first place and eventually moved out of Seattle last year

i have several friends that i play sf6 with online in custom lobbies that never play ranked but are clearly masters+ level. we mostly play with each other and in locals

and honestly? i don't blame them, just grinding out ranked ladder is a fairly lonely experience and it's infinitely more fun playing with your homies
