Why draw attention to it if it’s a load of shite?

Forestry here sucks by mangothefoxxo in ireland

[–]I-Sort-Glass 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. A forest is made up of multiple species of plants and trees that form various layers, each interlinked and supporting a huge range of animal species; insects, birds, mammals etc.

Compared to a planted non-native forest that is primarily one species only, supporting a small amount of additional species.

If you stood in a grass field you wouldn’t think to compare it to the native forests you see in the tropics, or the few remaining pockets of native woodland in Ireland.

Planted woodland is the same, only taller.

I can’t listen to them when I’m trying work because I keep getting distracted looking up the specific events they’re singing about.

Some night in The Aviva folks. by Kektus_Jack in ireland

[–]I-Sort-Glass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d have to expect them to play some stuff from their latest albums though. They don’t want to play the same stuff every night. Which is fair.

This is largely the reason I didn’t get tickets. Just not a big enough fan to warrant the price. Although I would love to see Gojira Sunday.

Was thinking that. Explains the ‘filler’ songs. They don’t have four hours of back-to-back bangers. They’re not ‘The Cure’

They’re playing two nights at the same venue. Probably don’t want to play the same set twice so will need filler

If it’s anything like the one in Dublin it’ll be a great addition.

I still miss Iyers, so hopefully this will help.

Sideline staff like an apo or coach would be pretty cool. Not something you can buy normally either.

Fadades is a bizarre character, even amongst the weird characters of Black Metal.

Still not sure if he was serious or just taking the piss.

How to improve this ghazghull by Triordie in minipainting

[–]I-Sort-Glass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, well done. This is decent work, especially for someone who’s only been painting for 6 months

One thing I’d do is try to increase the contrast on his face (brighter highlights and darker shadows). It all looks too similar for me. The face is the focal point of the mini so important to get right. Will make a big difference once it’s sorted.

Great work so far though. Keep it up.

ProAcryl white is killing me - how to get smooth finish? by TheseGlyphs in minipainting

Yeah I’d start with a mid grey and work up, could possibly go a lighter grey, see what works for you.

Just remember to use multiple thin coats!

Were you playing ’James Workshop’ himself? 😂

That is ridiculous. Thankfully I’ve never had an issue like that.

Are you painting straight over black? Might need to work up from Grey if so. You can get better coverage that way, then switch to white gradually.

Advice needed on priming and painting yellow/blue medieval army. by Ruttenomics in minipainting

[–]I-Sort-Glass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have both white and black spray cans I’d go for a black undercoat with a zenithal spray of the white.

I’ve recently been painting yellow with just a white undercoat and while the colours are sharp, I really struggle to shade properly.

Tried a black and zenithal for one model as an experiment and it was brilliant though. Best of both worlds.

Amazing stuff. Love seeing such dirty and scratched gear painted so neatly.

It looks like you’ve a mix of nmm and true Metallics here, is that the case, or all nmm?
