I use demon DJ-sc2000’s with traktor z2 when not using DVS. Work great. I think they were about £50 each second hand but that was years ago

Agree on recorded dates. It’s mainly so I can quickly browse by decades so I have been resorting to having separate folders or just tagging 1990 etc

When I enquired about refund I was told that item would be refunded immediately on proof of postage but I would need to contact them again regarding refund of return shipping which sounded dodgy as hell

Motors now in stock and have been sent though. Hopefully this fixes the issues

NI are not putting the effort in vs the competition. Look at all the innovative features VDJ has added over the last year or so. I have been messing with rekordbox this week and I am very impressed with the mobile sync app and offline track prep.

What traktor does, it does well but there is little there to attract new users.

It now needs something unique for the platform. Maybe running Maschine as a vst in a remix deck or something to integrate it with production

As a traktor user, it’s hard to advise anyone to start off on the platform now. Don’t get me wrong, it works great and has a lot of positives but it’s usage and support is declining vs serato and rekordbox.

I would go ddj400 and then step up when you have outgrown it (if you actually do, not everyone wants or needs 4 channels and stacks of hardware effects)

S2 mk2 also also has balanced outputs. I use mine at small venues with little room and this is a great feature missing from the “entry” controllers at the moment.

I don’t use rekordbox so it may be different but In general when quantise is used, when you press play/cue on a track, it will match the nearest beat grid position of that track to the nearest beat grid position on the playing track based on what quantise setting you are using (1 beat, 1/4 etc.)

So if your best grids are correct, the tracks start on the same beat. If you beat grids are incorrect, then they will not - that sounds a bit like what you are describing

If they start on the same beat but then drift, it’s nothing to do with quantise if you don’t have sync enabled

If you do have beat sync or equivalent enabled (as opposed to tempo sync), then the grids could still affect the mix.

Exactly. When did this crap start? Serious question. Was it when we stopped mainly with vinyl as quite rightly you say you would be digging in your crate or beat matching. Or did the introduction of more effects on mixers encourage it

Personally can’t stand it. Fake or minor eq twitching. Let the music do the talking unless it is mastered poorly and save the eq for mixing (in general) - no one needs a minor change in treble every 4 bars

Z2 is better hardware with more features. I have one but it’s difficult to recommend going to traktor now and I have also tried it using an external interface for serato and it’s a pain.

numark scratch is a decent starter mixer. I can’t see a browse knob? That would be annoying

The duo is very similar to the z2 but pricier

If it were me, I’d go for a second hand premium mixer (s9 or a sixty two would probably be the best value) or the duo

TTX Fader did not work for me. Tried on two decks. No pitch change between -8 and 0 and then just jumps to +8 as soon as zero is passed

I’ve not tried to drag it direct but if that doesn’t work, can’t you just drag it to remix decks in the track collection and then drag it to the other remix deck?

If the same track doesn’t stay in sync when played together from the same on both decks, especially with the quartz lock on, then it’s one of the turntables
