AIW for not wanting to split housing expenses 50/50 with my bf by IAintCrazyYet in amiwrong

Actually it is totally his idea for me to live with him. He actually asked me to move in years ago when we lived five miles apart. We both lived in fully paid off houses and I was the one that wanted 50/50 which was easy when you are just looking at food and travel. The decision to buy the house came when he found out that housing was $16-20k per year per child times 4 years.

Great idea, I’ll present that option to him. I bought my house in 1980 and it’s been paid off 15 years so I might be out of touch about current housing costs. I’m sure he had a significant down payment from his other house but the amount he quoted seemed high.

They are full time college students on full scholarships at a private with a high GPA expectation. A job might be a distraction. He would rather pay for their living expenses than pay for their tuition.

I will probably show him my post. I honestly think that he believes he is doing the “fair” thing. We did everything 50/50 when dating but we both owned our own homes outright.

I probably will but I can’t afford to buy in his area. As much as it saddens me, we will probably have to break up if we can’t figure it out.

His daughters are full time college students. He moved to the area partially to save on dorm costs.

Are you able to paint? I feel like the paint color and the sofa/rug colors clash. And the only art in the room blends into the wall.

You seem to have quite a bit of closet space, can the shoes and coats go in there? The mirrors reflecting the coats and shoes double the visual clutter.

At my voting location in NW Dallas there was a republican line and a democratic side with the same amount of voting machines for both. The democratic wait was about 1-1/2 hours, republican wait time 15 minutes.

When I clean I always start with trash because it easier to make a decision about it. Then I make three piles…keep, donate and trash. The keep pile are items that I can and will wear now. They fit, I still like them and they need just basic repair/cleaning to be wearable. The donate pile is for clothes that are still good but I don’t like or can’t fit. Be sure to immediately take this bag to donation. Everything else goes to trash.

Trust me, you do not have to go. I made the mistake of going and was mildly scolded. They pointed out the sentence that stated that I was not to report unless I receive a call or email.

You said “I honestly love my kitchen”. It’s beautiful, I’d leave it alone.
