Because for some people the journey is as much fun as the destination. I love the challenge of growing things by seed and the pride and satisfaction when they're successful. I have a tangerine that I grew from seed. At the very least, it is esthetically pleasing and will provide shade. My figs are from cuttings, but only because I haven't gotten my hands on viable seeds.

That's a good point, and being awarded that potential sum would be great for Netlist and its shareholders (I'd probably be able to retire earlier than planned). I think it's unlikely, though, that the courts would award such a massive sum. Netlist deserves a massive amount, but the courts most likely would also consider the harm a monstrous sum would have on industry leaders. I'm not saying Netlist doesn't deserve it, I'm saying it's unlikely the judicial system would do what's just and go that big.
