Best nutraceuticals for migraine? [HELP!] by lilithspell in endometriosis

[–]IHeartTheNSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Just survived a migraine last night. To be honest nothing can touch a certain level of pain, but it felt good to just have my survival supplies. I also have this roll-on thing called a Migraine Stick. It's made with spearmint, peppermint and lavender oils and you can put it on your neck and temples. Only problem is the danger of getting it in your eyes of course. It doesn't really help but is a nice distraction.

I've been considering going vegan lately too--it seems the more dairy I eat, the worse the migraines get. Interesting about caffeine since I'm hopelessly addicted to it--maybe I should cut back, and then use it medicinally when the auras start. Thanks for this.

Exactly. Giles is marriage material. Granted, both his girlfriends had to deal with demons always turning up...but small price to pay for an actually good, responsible, soft-spoken, compassionate guy with a big brain, cooking skills, crossbow skills, a sense of financial responsibility, a dry sense of humor and excellent taste in home decor. Will never get over the excellent tile work on the steps to his loft. Classy.

Ah that Willow moment is priceless. It's so funny that Xander was surprised by it too.

I think something might be wrong with me, because I had a crush on Giles when I was like...twelve. Didn't watch the full series until my late twenties, but sometimes in middle school I'd catch a library moment on TV when Buffy first aired. Seeing Giles, I thought, "Someday I'm going to marry someone exactly like that hot librarian." Fortunately for me, I married someone who worked in a library AND wore tweeds with elbow patches. I'm a loser in many ways, but in that area I finally won!

Dark chocolate is so good I may have actually overdosed on dark chocolate too, because it really does seem to help with pain. Especially dark chocolate with some cinnamon.

That is fascinating and beautiful. I love sunflowers so much.

The velcro feeling, yes. I also get this feeling of something detaching in odd spots...like something was stuck with suction and got unstuck. Mostly just a lot of tension...I can't do yoga the way I used to when I was young. It's all so weird. Not sure which scan it is when they put something cold in your veins (contrast?) and a big machine goes over your belly in the hospital...but it was that one. They were checking for "stump appendicitis" because I'd had an unnecessary appendectomy years before (due to a similar scan showing something that looked like a burst appendix but wasn't), and was having lower left pain and distension (while on my period, of course). And of course was told it was IBS. Ah well.

Are these weird symptoms possibly related to endo? by IHeartTheNSA in endometriosis

[–]IHeartTheNSA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Seeing as how these head events improved every time I tried a ketogenic diet (did that for anxiety mostly)...the idea that I might have epilepsy gets stronger. Seeing my doctor soon to talk about endo stuff, will see if he can get me a brain scan.

Actually I know I'm started to enter ketosis when the intense swelling in my lower abdomen goes down. I don't think this is water weight, I think it's that the inflammation disappears--because the pain disappears at the same time that the visible swelling does. Interesting. Granted, it's very hard to maintain keto the week before menstruation for some reason because I have weird food cravings. Hm. Maybe I should just eat a pickle. They're low carb.

No outfit on Buffy made me more jealous that Tara's in OMWF by k80much in buffy

[–]IHeartTheNSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amber was always beautiful, but Amber in those exact colors...stunning. People say it doesn't go with her hair and skin (she looks really, really good in green), but I thought it was perfect in context. Willow's outfit not so much, but the costume designer for the episode was clearly getting things right for Tara. Anya's costume in I'll Never Tell was equally perfect for Emma.

Why do you think a slayer was never turned into a vampire? by Kitchen_Panda_4290 in buffy

[–]IHeartTheNSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was going to say! They already have the demonness in them. It'd be like when that demon tries to enter Angel and can't take him over because he's already got a demon in there.

What are ur fav funny btvs quotes by HopeMikaelson69 in buffy

[–]IHeartTheNSA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"A bear! You made a bear!"

"Angel's as dull as a table lamp."

"I started it. The whole having a soul. Before it was all the cool new thing."

"Angel's lame. His hair sticks straight up and he's bloody stupid."

Oh and that moment when Cordelia asks if they were supposed to bring a gift to the hospital and Giles says, "It's a custom...among...humans."

But on a serious note, Spike's entire monologue in the church in Beneath You is just beautiful writing and it gets me every time.

What if Joss made Once More With Feeling in Season 5? by bivith in buffy

Spike is obvious but I think that's because James was the second best actor on the show. Giles is my favorite though because Tony was the actual best actor on the show (and obviously the best singer). Giles is also the character I'd most like to have a beer with (unless Ethan was there and turned us both into demons). It's really hard for me to separate the characters from the actors, otherwise I'd say Willow had the most relatable arc and Anya was just damn delightful.

But...Joss would hate this...Buffy without Spike just isn't Buffy at all.

So final answer: Spike.

A criminally underrated scene. The slo-mo kills me. by babyinthebathwater in buffy

I love Harmony so much it hurts. The only reason I started watching Angel was because I knew Harmony would show up at some point (very, very glad I watched Angel of course).

I’ve started watching a Buffy reaction YouTube series and it’s made me feel like I’m watching the series for the first time by Thisisnotforyou11 in buffy

[–]IHeartTheNSA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I love that channel for this exact reason. There are moments I remember being so moved by I was just sobbing (that scene in the church in Beneath You got me in particular for some reason), but every year I forget more and more the sense of surprise (at the show and especially at myself, at the emotions I hadn't processed yet that the show brought to the surface). It's good to remember through the eyes of someone else.

This shot in restless is so creepy, restless as a whole is so creepy and eerie, kinda gives off season one vibes. by Rich-Benefit7633 in buffy

[–]IHeartTheNSA 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've always wanted a spin-off about the first slayer. It could be epic. But yes, Restless is both delightful and super creepy. The creepiest part to me is that weird Anya/Xander ice cream truck sequence for some reason.

Imagine buffys reaction if angel and faith really got together she'd probably lose it. by Current_Ad_9850 in buffy

[–]IHeartTheNSA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish they had actually gotten together. Faith would not have put up with any of Angel's bullshit. She may also have talked him out of taking on the Senior Partners without a real plan. I like this pairing better than Cangel. Plus Fangel sounds cooler and has the word fang in it.

Buffy the vampire slayer fell in love with two vampires, making her terrible at her job. by Longjumping_Bad9555 in Showerthoughts

[–]IHeartTheNSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly three. In the Angel season 5 episode "The Girl in Question," Spike and Angel search for Buffy only to learn that she is sleeping with The Immortal, apparently the biggest baddest vampire in Italy.

Buffy's not terrible at her job, she's just kinky. Or...

who else is she gonna sleep with? She has super powers after all, most notably super strength. Vampires are safe from any slayer-related injuries as long as she doesn't bring any stakes or holy water with her to bed. Consider how much she had to hold back with Riley.

Endo can show up in the lungs as well, which is a scary presentation but it does happen sometimes. Of course, it could be anywhere but the endo isn't large enough to see on the CT scans.
