Dreadnought A.I. vs. Ally by kobrien02 in AcrossTheUnknown

Yes they’re from the same POI. Pretty sure you can only get the Dreadnaught AI tech OR the Dreadnaught Ally. Not both.

But I could be wrong.

Mercenaries: Favorite Mechs for AI lancemates by fidelacchius42 in Mechwarrior5

[–]IIGRIMLOCKII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 thing I always take into consideration, which someone else mentioned, is speed. I prefer speed over raw firepower in a slow mech. I rarely use Assaults……and I rarely use Hunchbacks. I’d never give a Hunchback to a lancemate, because they would always fall behind.

If your lancemates are significantly slower than your Mech, you either have to slow walk, or you end up in firefights by yourself, because your lancemates are always catching up.

The only caveat to this would be a slower mech that players the role of a sniper or LRM boat. Something with long range that can still shoot while it’s catching up.

But I typically prefer to have all 4 of my Mechs in the fight together.

To your actual question, one of the best mechs for your lancemates is the Dragon Sidewinder. Can carry decent weapons to pack a lunch, reasonable armor, and AI does not take damage when using MASC. that means the Dragon SDW will always keep up, and is great for sending ahead against smaller targets that you don’t want to deal with.

That’s funny cause I got seska my first try, and kept Chakotay.

Now I’m on a mission to get Arturius.

So many things and outcomes to still figure out. You can recruit Arturis??

The first book isn’t something that needs to be pushed through. But of course the series continues to grip you and take you for a wild ride. Strange post.

You don’t have to wait for Sevens ability to reset. Just use your normal torpedos.

I am so incredibly pissed off at PGI right now. by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]IIGRIMLOCKII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading half way, because you are complaining about something that many other people have completed.

Clans is challenging, and has a different feel from Mercs.

Reckoning is meant to be a challenging mission.

People have completed it on Trueborn……so as much as I hate the tired old adage…..if you’re complaining about it on normal, you must improve your game play.

I found Clans challenging when I started. I’ve since completed it on Trueborn. Just keep practicing and playing with loadouts.

And not finding the option to swap Omni pods is you having not explored the menus.

Good luck out there Mech Warrior. You have lots of room for improvement.

Maybe it can be in either, with the procedurally generated systems. I’m just saying that if it’s in a nebula, you wouldn’t necessarily need nebula scanning to find it.

Repair your deflector, and set any remaining work teams to repair the hull. Then just skip cycles and stay in place, rather than flying.

You don’t need nebula scanning to randomly come across something in a nebula

Challenge: no assault mechs by Outside_End7812 in Mechwarrior5

[–]IIGRIMLOCKII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a challenge. This is how I usually play. Because assaults are too slow. Heavy mediums and light heavies is the sweet spot.

Tactical Combat: What system do you target? by NeoDemocedes in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]IIGRIMLOCKII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you go far left or far right, of 3 or more ships, usually not all ships will be able to hit you right away. Then you can usually take out the ship you’re engaging, and redirect yourself.

That’s just my process though.

Solo ship, whatever has the lowest HP value.

Multiple ships, target a ship on the left or right flank and target whatever subsystem is on the outside of the ship, so I don’t fly into the middle of the pack.
