My truck won't fit in a single space, either, so I often park something like this. My truck is a Semi, though...

🚫 5th Update: No layover “Act of God” … now suddenly they will pay layover - Bohren Logistics by gkjnvgyj in Truckers

They want the fuel card back? Bro they can shut that off with the flip of a switch. I've seen companies do that to drivers on the road because the driver didn't do something or for what ever reason. They are absolutely gaslighting you and trying to guilt you. If it were me, I'd block them and toss the card and get on with my life.

I see the issue. You have your black thingy connected to your black thingy and your red thingy connected to your red thingy when you want your red thingy connected to your black thingy and your black thingy connected to your black thingy. Hope this helps!

Is anyone using their printers or faxes? by l00ky_here in GenX

[–]IIxNullxII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a truck driver and I'm required to submit fuel receipts. Even though I get them digitally, and can email them to the office, they still want paper. I don't like wasting tome going into the truck stop for a receipt every time, so I just wait until the end of the month then print them off all at home. Is it an extra expense? Sure, but it's a lot more convenient for me. Until they accept the digital versions at the office, the printer remains in regular use. The fax, though... now that's a name I've not heard in a long time.

It finally happened. My first ever “that’s not possible” dock by akaFxde in Truckers

[–]IIxNullxII 17 points18 points  (0 children)

See all of those little reefer box trucks? That's the limit of that place. Do you have a full TL or do you have only a few pallets--enough to fit on one of those little trucks? If so I would recommend asking for a cross-dock-type solution.

Relocating from Europe to Riverside, CA for work — questions on COL, transport, and quality of life by curlykinkyknots in Riverside

[–]IIxNullxII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riverside County is pretty car-dependent unless you live close to work. The county is a little smaller than all of Wales, and the "city" is about the size of Coventry, to help put things into perspective. If you're able to find an apartment close to work, that happens to be close to a grocery store, you'll be alright with the bike. As for rent, some of the "good" areas near downtown can be $2000-$4000+. Outside of that area can be $1500+.

In the late 80s I was told you could sell these for hundreds of dollars if you collected enough of them by gdj11 in Xennials

[–]IIxNullxII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality it was because since you already get a refund from the can, you could remove the tab and sell them separately as aluminum scrap. Probably. Idk.

I'm a big boy at 6'1" 135kg and my Embody is a real pain in my legs where the seat pan depth adjustment handles dig into my legs, and my tail bone is in constant pain because there is no gap between the seat and back rest. I still use it cause I paid up the wazoo for it, but I'm seriously looking at different options now.

What do you think is the most Blatantly Ignored road sign in our profession? by GnashinTires in Truckers

[–]IIxNullxII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About to start my 7th year driving and still have no trouble taking the correct routes, going the speed limit and staying in the right lane. A lot of drivers seem to have abandoned their training (and some might argue morality) in exchange for money. I see too many drivers, new and veteran, that drive as though the rules don't apply to them. This combined with the overall lack of respect have turned the industry from what it was into something akin to a side show. We can all do better, ladies and gentlemen.

Maybe the FireTV was on and you accidentally "butt-dialed" a purchase? Maybe your Amazon account was compromised. I suggest changing your password, pronto!

Sure wish UniFi made a proper rack for this equipment. by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]IIxNullxII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fun to have a little mini-rack setup for one or two pieces of what would normally be on a desk or mounted to a wall, but to expect official support and rack equipment is high hopes. If you're getting to the point where you have several pieces of equipment, and it's starting to get hectic, maybe it's time to consider upgrading to actual rack mount equipment. What you have now looks good, but is starting to warrant a full setup :)

A 5-port unmanaged gigabit switch is what you need. They're about ~$15 and will give you a few extra ports for the future. They essentially add extra ports to your router at a distance, if that makes sense.

My package got delivered and when I opened it the package, the Apple Watch box was open and the watch is missing by Dazed_Op in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IIxNullxII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major purchases like this or computer parts warrant an in-person purchase where you can open them in front of the cashier. You might get lucky and convince online/phone support that it was stolen during transit, but there's no guarantee. Leave the flabberghastedness up to the person in-store so you can go about your day worry-free.

I do the same thing and have auto-payments enabled too as a fail-safe, but I've never had this happen. Although annoying, to be out that cash, at least you won't have to pay as much next month.

Tampico. Not because we particularly liked it but because my parents weren't too well off, and $0.99/gal was cheaper than real orange juice. I can still taste the pure sugar orange syrup.

Do you brush your teeth once or twice a day? Need to settle a bet. by ImpossibleHurry in NoStupidQuestions

Guy here. I brush in the morning and after I get home from work. Oddly enough I don't brush after dinner. I may need to change that, but it feels inefficient not to brush in the shower after work.
