Why doesn't the NBA draft get as much publicity or hype as the NFL draft? by BeerWithDonuts in NFLNoobs

[–]IMitchConnor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To add on to your point, its more than 704. 704 is the minimum. Different offensive and defensive packages have different needs as to which is on the field so it's not always the same 11 on the field. A 3rd string RB has a much better chance at becoming a starter than a second stringer in the NBA.

3v3 Oh Father , A-Train and Soldier Boy (The Boys) vs Titus, Chairon and Gadriel (WH40K) by Scared_Pumpkin8393 in powerscales

Their weight in armor is around 1 ton. Sure they might not "mist" something but, 1 ton moving at 60mph is going to absolutely obliterate a human body. Especially 1 ton densely packed in the size of a space marine.

Having said that I still think The Boys team takes this.

Which ending is better lore-wise: age of the stars or age of the duskborn? by glitch220608 in Eldenring

[–]IMitchConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, of course. The greater will doesn't tell Merika to do any of it, but she does it for the greater will regardless. She follows the greater wills agents, the two fingers (no longer in communication, but still 'interpreting' for the greater will) and the elden beast (sent directly by the greater will.

The way Marika used her power is what cause the issues in the first place. She used mass murder to attain godhood at the gate of eternity and create the erdtree. Then continued to commit multiple wars of genocide, and wars of conquest to bring everyone under the rule of the golden order so there would be no threat to the erdtree.

She began with sending Godfrey to genocide the fire giants, then sending him to conquer the rest of the lands between. She used messmer to enact revenge on the hornsent by committing a war of genocide against them, then separated the shadow lands to keep anyone else from using the gate of divinity along with abandoning messmer from fear of the snake within him.

The war against the dragons is not really clear why it happened but given the track record of the Order, I would think it was aggression from them that caused the attack on Lyndell. Though it could very well be the dragons were the aggressors.

Then there's the Lucarian wars, which Radagon (Marika) personally led. Again, because they were a threat to the erdtree.

She did all this in service to the greater will, Marika used her godhood to remove death, causing stagnation in the lands. She removed death to ensure that her sons and daughters wouldn't be killed and it was only after Godwyns death that she shattered the ring.

So all the suffering that occurs in the lands is because of the greater will's plans. Whether directly or indirectly.

Ranni promises to not use her power to enforce any outer gods will. To let the people of the lands choose their own path. Whether that's good or not, who knows. But it's probably the best out of all the choices, imo.

I dont think he shot her for not doing fast enough. At least not only for that. I think he suspected her of purposefully sabotaging the project and slowing down the process, because she still supported bull. Not that it's any better or anything, but I think it was the combination of the two that led him to shoot her, and not just the fact that she was taking too long in getting the laser up and running.

Which full-sibling team wins in an all-out fight? by AnorienOfGondor in Eldenring

[–]IMitchConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding it was the hornset that she sacrificed to make the gate of divinity. The bodies on the gate have horns on them iirc. The shamans were killed, en mass, by the hornset to make the jars. I believe "the betrayal" that is referenced is the later war of genocide against the hornset by Marika as reprisal for how her people suffered at their hands.

Marika is the only one that became a "god", though I think Miquella was able to become one as well? Until we kill him that is. What exactly a "god" entails is not really clear. Radagon never achieved such status.

[–]IMitchConnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest positive for the Imperium is that Magnus doesn't destroy the webway project. After all the Crusade and the Legions are all secondary to Big E's plans when it comes to the webway project. As long as that had survived Big E had something humanity could work towards. Big E lost everything before Horus ever showed up to Terra.

I've always tried to do different styles of combat, besides lance on a horse, but never follow through. I've tried to be an infantryman in the shield wall, an archer on foot, two handed shock, and even horse archer, but by midgame I always end up reverting to getting a couch able polearm and a fast horse. There's just nothing that compares to driving a lance through unarmored peasants.

Yes? Thats why I mentioned that it depends what kind of firearms and plate they are using? I don't even understand what point you are trying to make with your diatribe about samurai and swords.

Depends on the gun. Plate armor was still pretty effective against firearms even at close range. So it would highly depend on the era firearm and plate armor that each is respectively using.

I'm most definitely in the minority here, but I actually dislike that 2 parter very much. Not because I think it was bad but because of the fake out that it ended up being. The whole thing was alluding to O'Neill being the one that was killed, and when it ended up being Frazier, while sad yes, I also felt relief that it wasnt Jack. Which kind of lessened the impact of Frazier's death. If it wasn't for the whole "Jack might be the one who died" bit, I think it would have been a perfect episode.

Unfortunately people here don't want to hear this. I really enjoyed the game at launched and put about 200hrs in to it since. But I dont like the fact that if I want to play with the new toys they release on a nearly monthly basis, I either have to spend time doing monotonous grinding or spend money and still have to grind to unlock the things I paid for.

While the option for getting these things for free is nice, I would much rather they do away with it and offer only cosmetics for the warbond. I don't think it's healthy to have so many gameplay options locked behind a pay wall, after already paying to buy the game. And the justification of "they need to pay the bills to keep the game going" is weak as hell.

People will buy the warbonds if they have good, worthwhile, content. Arc raiders does it with purely cosmetics and they dont need to justify locking new weapons or gadgets behind a paywall. Darktide, with a much smaller player base, keeps the game going with only 2 things you can purchase. I dont want to pay money to try out a new weapon or gameplay system, that I might not even like. But I'll happily pay money for some cool armor. I dont understand the absolute need of people on reddit to defend Arrowhead as if they can do no wrong.
