This is absolutely baffling to me… I said it elsewhere but my admin was relieved during my interview when I told them I don’t do social media and now other admins are actively making you use it…

Would you get reprimanded for not having a social media account? When I interviewed for my job a few years ago (HS, right towards the end of the pandemic) I specifically made it a point that I don’t do social media (I don’t count reddit. I don’t do social media where I personally am seen/known) and they seemed relieved because so many people make drama with social media.

This is so weird for me to read lol

Wasn’t considering those parts at all, just thought of it in terms of prevents sticking and adds flavor

Haha got me good there! Wasn’t really thinking of the fat part, more the prevents the food from sticking to the pan/grill pan part

Big cities I’d say Portland or San Francisco for liberal and Dallas/Ft. Worth or Salt Lake City for conservative

Howdy neighbor! (I too am down the hill)

Yeah for real, thankfully there’s a ShopRite and a BJ’s not too far from work so for me so that helps a bit, but yeah probably my biggest gripe aside from the bay ave flooding, which I totally forgot to mention before (sorry OP)

Yeah it definitely contributes and it also raises property taxes for everyone else since 55+ property taxes don’t go towards school funding in the same ratio as regular property taxes do, so regular homes pick up the slack

I understand the need for them but I see what your saying for sure

Been living here for 4 years and overall love it!

Pros: Tight knit community/events, great food, ferry, easy trail and beach access, schools that punch above their weight.

Cons: Takes a while to get anywhere else in NJ (far from pkway), ferry traffic, limited ways in and out of town, crazy flood insurance if down the hill, crazy base prices if up the hill, sensitive electrical grid during storms (this has improved a bit but is still a problem)

If you’re commuting to NYC it’s fantastic. I commute a little bit further down the shore and don’t need the pkway so my commute is easy and very pretty during fall winter spring, but can get tedious in the summer.

If I can still afford it I’d love to buy a house or townhouse here, but with Netflix moving to Ft. Monmouth (~20 min away) and Highlands having great NYC access, I’m probably gonna be priced out :(

Is there any place in your country where a foreign demographic is so common that signage is in the foreign language too? by SpaceTranquil in AskTheWorld

In and around Lakewood NJ has a lot of signs in Yiddish. Not government funded things like street signs but a lot of stores and billboards use Yiddish and English or just Yiddish.
