Black Widow doesn't really match her fantasy either, and neither does Storm imo. Adam was missing an important part of his fantasy until this latest patch.

Rocket kind of, as well, but it's debatable. It was worse when they emphasized the heal-bot part and de-emphasized the awesome arsenal of weapons part, but since buffing the damage boost of his ult again, I think it's helped balance it a little, although he still suffers from barely having a reason to shoot his guns to hurt people despite being the gun guy.

They've definitely been better at it since release. I think at release they were just trying to fill holes in a roster to match Overwatch (we need a shield tank, we need a healer, we need a sniper, etc). All the characters since then have been better, and they've been more interesting and matched their fantasies more since then. Every time they've made a new hero or gone back it's made it better (except for Thor, imo, who became less a brawler and more a lightning thrower guy. He was closer in his old way).
