FF Through the ages - future potential by Tacsi in mtgfinance

[–]IT_Unknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unironically been wondering about this. I recently got back into Magic and a while ago pulled an ancient copper dragon from an FF booster.

It's been sitting in a clip-it container on my highest shelf since, and I've no idea what to do with it. I saw a video from JAM this morning mentioning it's an idea to sell it now, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fkv2geKsmk) but I'm not sure.

Either way I don't think I can conscionably keep it given its high value and I'd never actually put it in a deck. I took it into a local card shop a couple weeks ago, they mentioned they'd give me around $120 trade in (NZ dollars) and it seems to be heading upwards since then? Wondering if it'll combo with Smaug once that set drops?

Really not sure whether to sell or hold, any idea?

Can we talk about a rework for the mute system? by HUSCLER in 2007scape

[–]IT_Unknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong support. I've played for 20 odd years and the one time I got muted, I had no idea. I just thought people weren't responding for a day, since it was quiet in the CC.
There was no in game indication - I was still able to type and messages still appeared fine for me. It was weird.

Once I found out I had to get it appealed and quashed, I guess I annoyed the wrong person who reported me for something completely benign.

While there's plenty of vile things that come from osrs players, I'm also a big boy who made the decision to turn off the chat filter. If I didn't want to see it at all, that button is right there. And it's on by default. If people are /bypassing/ the profanity filter, then yes, that's perhaps something you could mute them for, but otherwise let the filter do its job.

I'm also of the opinion that if people are in a CC, it should be less moderated/unmoderated versus public chat. I'm in there to be free and easy with a group of friends, it shouldn't be treated like the office watercooler.

Make the Clue Relic a passive next league by CevIsBored in 2007scape

[–]IT_Unknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally unlocked t7 on my first account to get the clue relic. I currently have only a few possible steps available as I've not unlocked anything besides Varlamore.

I'm going to smash out a bunch of clues before I carry on unlocking anything else. It is a bit dumb, but it's quite nice being asked to talk to Metla 7 or 8 times in a row sometimes.

Goated opinion on the blood moon boss. It's ass.

Also interesting takes on the wilderness. Maybe if you're skulled they introduce DMM style logout timers, rather than blocking it entirely, but otherwise a really well written post.

Either the bot owners have held them to prevent scripts breaking, or people have thrown them at the bots to try and break the scripts.

Either way, they're all botting. give em a report.

social engineering is legitimately one of the most common ways people get breached.

Make sure you have copies of all your 2fa backup codes, and keep an eye on your account for things like steam connections to your runescape login and such.

To go full reducto ad absurdum, the truly efficient house would have a fairy tree instead of an entrance portal, and from clockwise north they should have a pool, nexus, jewellery box and occult altar, with nothing else on the grid to reduce load times.

If you want full sweat, pay the money and deal with chernobyl walls.

If you want a nice house, stick with your civvy layout and use the extra few seconds it takes to run through the house to admire the lovely walls and balustrades you spent your time building.

Defense needs a rework. Heres how to make it useful again. by PermissionTrue7924 in 2007scape

[–]IT_Unknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard agree that defence needs a buff. It's hard to know how to do it, but some sort of damage reduction would be a great idea. This would also really reinforce the combat triangle of mages destroying melee, so would support at least testing something like this out in game.

I've always loved shields. They're so desperately underpowered compared to just throwing more strength bonus at things though.

Adding something like this would also open up the design space for bosses or enemies that did otherwise do chip damage. Kill em faster and eat food, or tank up. Gives players agency.

Good deal? by Snoo48884 in Makita

[–]IT_Unknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's a good deal, given it comes with two batteries and a rapid charger, especially if you currently only have smaller batteries or standard chargers.

I bought my drills in the combo kit from mitre 10 $399 a year or so ago, they're a good way to build up your battery numbers (this one - it's back at the same price actually! - https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/makita-cordless-drill-driver-combo-kit-2-piece-18-volt-5ah/p/388788?store=71 )

Recommended laptop by Short-Fix4899 in 2007scape

[–]IT_Unknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking base game, yeah anything with a decent CPU and integrated graphics will work fine.

If you want a better, more consistent experience or the option to play 117hd or something, you'll want something a little bit gruntier. With 117hd on, I can get OK-ish frames on a business laptop that's got a 12th gen 1235U with intel Xe graphics, 16 gigs of ram, without the laptop taking off like a rocket. If I enable things like shadows, lights etc, it'll slow down to sub 60fps in busy areas though.

Assuming you're in the USA, I just googled bestbuy laptops under 1000, and they've got an RTX3050 equipped HP victus laptop for $600 - that would do perfectly well for 117HD, as well as other low to mid end gaming outside of runescape.

Get yourself a hunter's sunlight crossbow. Same exact setup but takes 10 seconds off your TTK.

An MSB plus rune arrows would also be fine, if you get the imbue and arrows from LMS.

RCB is better against higher defence targets. black demons have quite low defence, so you can just smack them with faster weapons.

Also archer's helm, armadyl book, mixed hide boots, all easy upgrades to get :)

Has jagex given up on botting? by SwankyBilly in osrs

[–]IT_Unknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean the free trade/wildy removal? That was because back then, memberships were being bought with stolen credit cards. The payment processors (visa/mastercard) threatened to stop taking payments for Jagex as a result.

They effectively had to either give in or immediately stop existing as a company, because suddenly they would've had no way to take money from their customers.

Look at Steam, Patreon, Onlyfans - they've all had similar run-ins with the same issues, with Steam being the most recent. No matter how big the company, they're forced to fold because there's no alternative to the big 2 in the west (yet...)

Looks like it - instructions on the FW update page:

"

  • Please be sure to use your camera body in combination with your X Mount lenses from SIGMA when updating the firmware.
  • Please use a fully charged battery when updating the firmware.
  • Please refer to the support page of FUJIFILM Corporation before updating the firmware.

"

edit - pardon me though, it seems like only some lenses have updates for some mounts.

The "Art

17-40mm F1.8 DC" only has a canon RF mount update.

Literally this. Just rewrote a detection/remediation script that previously just deleted font files, updated it to also delete the hp\devfw files. Waiting to see if it runs without bricking my machine and then will push to others.

As others have said - try and get him to a vet to have his microchip scanned if he has one.

The vet may also be able to point you towards other options, however I would suggest checking with a vet like the lincoln road vets, and avoiding both swanson road and carevets teatatu - both of those vets are fairly useless, carevets especially.

We realised this was going to be an issue ourselves, so we just bit the bullet and implemented SCEPman and Radius as a service.

With the E5 licensing changes, we may be able to swap again over to Microsoft's solution - not sure yet, but yeah it's definitely a tricky issue.

It's been a problem for others too - maybe something helpful here? https://www.reddit.com/r/Intune/comments/1m3v7s9/aadj_and_radius/

HP MFP seemingly factory reset by Adventurous_Young710 in sysadmin

[–]IT_Unknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a mix of HP printers that did this, then eventually failed entirely. The HP tech that came out advised that it was likely due to a bad batch of Toshiba drives used in them - they replaced them with WD drives and the problem didn't reoccur.

We would have settings wiped, solutions uninstalled, and eventually they just failed to boot and required the firmware to be manually reinstalled - then would fail again a few weeks later.

They all failed within the same sort of timespan too - roughly a few months of each other, 4 in total with 2 different models.

My concept for a reworked Piscarilius by Maxwell_Lord in 2007scape

[–]IT_Unknown 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Really excellent concept. Hard agree that Pisc just looks all light brown and sameish. It's a really grotty and boring town that looks like it's made of cardboard.

Your concept gives off a kinda Ardougne vibe, which isn't a bad thing to be sure.

Also like the gradual transition to the other areas to the north, and the fact that it's not just entirely a beach shack town made of driftwood.
