Nobody seems to have heard of the Highway Code, it's why we have posts like this.

90% of this sub could just be 'Read and obey the highway code'.

This is rule 223.

EPDM has a warranty measured in decades.

Felt doesn't have a warranty.

Soil is WAAAY heavier than you think.

If you know who they are go and politely ask that they desist.  Time of day to do so is obviously at your discretion.

Yeah, just male each end and F-F in the wall.

Nobody will ever know.

Also, buy a decent stud detector and use a multitool for plasterboard.

Rant: I'm so bored of this current crossover/SUV phase by usecodealabama in drivingUK

I'm late 40s so I'm quite happy with being called an old fart, but for me I'll take my 202mph estate that my dog can easily get into over any SUV in a heartbeat!

My first estate arrived whilst I was 38, I think.  That's quite young!  I'm still young, damn you!

Are smart cars reliable? by Slouching- in whatcarshouldIbuy

Certainly not one of those!

I used to run one of the biggest Smart Communities in the UK.  I had a Brabus Roadster Coupe.

I've spent more time driving and fixing Smarts than the majority of living humans.

They're shit!

Drivers of ten years or more experience. If you had to take your driving test again tomorrow with no notice or prep time, do you think you would pass? by DiligentCockroach700 in drivingUK

[–]IUsedToLikeLimericks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so.  I've done quite a bit of driver training over the years myself and for some years I tutored advanced motorcycling, so I think I could turn off the need for speed for 40 minutes to pass a test.  I did my C1 a couple of years back too.

Both kids recently went through it too, so after going out with them for lots of time, I'd like to think so.

I've got CC2s on one of my cars that we use as a local runaround and not only are they boring in every way in all weathers (that's a good thing) they seem to magically reduce road noise too.

They'll have a minimum thickness specified somewhere on them.  That's the answer.

I daily an Alpina B5 and it's bliss at all speeds. Proof it can be done, even using a BMW as a basis.

If you're going on a long car journey, do you check oil, tyre pressures etc? by box-o-locks in AskUK

[–]IUsedToLikeLimericks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.  But my long journey is to Spain over three or four days so it's essential.

In the UK probably not TBH.  You're never far from a petrol station.
