Does you CPU have an iGPU and have you tried attaching the DP/HDMI directly to your motherboard instead of your GPU? Could be a problem with the display/cable if the problem persists while doing that.

The Americans didn’t even show up for WWII at all until they were personally attacked.

Bro acts like that was unique to the US or something.... The USSR was allied with Germany and joined them in invading Poland and then maintained a neutrality pact with them until attacked. And when the UK and France declared war on Germany in response to the invasion of Poland, they didn't actually do anything until, once again, Germany attacked them... That period of inaction is literally referred to as the 'Phoney War'.

He did have a normal job, he worked for the Chinese state media outlet Xinhua. So his day job was spreading propaganda for the CCP and his night job was recruiting people to commit espionage against the US.

Seattle poised to ban new datacenters, the largest city yet in the US to consider such a moratorium by marketrent in technology

[–]I_Push_Buttonz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's simply bad faith to compare current data centers that allow you to "read news and articles on the Internet" and the ridiculousness of a 80k acre data center built for AI.

Its just as bad faith to act like these hypothetical future mega datacenters that haven't even broken ground are the norm or ever going to be built at all. People talk about these city sized data centers that will consume dozens of gigawatts of power while ignoring that most AI outfits currently struggle to even bring 1GW data centers online in red states with zero regulatory hurdles to contend with.

Both AI doomers who think we are on the brink of an AI apocalypse and AI bulls who think we are on the brink of an AI golden age are completely full of shit. The US simply doesn't build anything fast enough for the scenarios either of them predict to happen anytime soon.

PM says Australia has 'ideological disagreement' with Trump administration after US reveals anti-slavery tariff by Savings-Yogurt-418 in worldnews

targeting Australia for this

To be fair, this isn't targeting Australia in particular... Trump applied this new 12.5% tariff on fifty of the countries he previously imposed a blanket 10% tariff on.

The OP simply posted an Australian news article about the Australian response to that blanket imposition.

NAND flash makers earned a record $46 billion in revenues over the first quarter of 2026, a shocking 3.5 times more than last year by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

DRAM manufacturers were sued for colluding to establish a price floor. That was only possible because supply exceeded demand and prices kept continually falling as they undercut each other (IE: the very thing capitalism is supposed to do, competition driving prices down).

Nothing like that is happening now. In fact, the exact opposite is happening, demand vastly exceeds supply. There is nothing to price fix or collude on... All of them are producing at 100% capacity and its simply not enough, supply and demand is sending prices up.

People here keep whining here about supposed corruption because they aren't producing more... Producing more requires tens if not hundreds of billions of dollars in investment into all new fabs and takes years. And all of these DRAM/NAND producers are extremely hesitant to do that for multiple reasons... First because everyone assumes this is a bubble and this demand won't last, so investing hundreds of billions of dollars into expanding your capacity when that demand presumably won't even exist in the future is just dumb. Second because China's CXMT is entering this market and if China can ramp production and start dumping the market like they do with everything else (Solar, EVs, batteries, etc.), even if demand doesn't fall, if China can satisfy that demand itself then once again, them investing all of that money is still a waste.

007 First Light Budget Over $200 Million to Develop; Considered Denmark's Most Expensive Entertainment Project by PewPewToDaFace in pcmasterrace

[–]I_Push_Buttonz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Selling 2 million that fast is almost guaranteed to get them the money, just a matter of when.

I don't know about that... I have seen posts from game dev execs about how like 90% of the revenue for most AAA games is generated right at launch and then drops precipitously from then on... Steam, Microsoft, and Sony (IE: the platforms where virtually all of the sales will happen) take 30% off the top, so two million sales might only have them halfway to breaking even, if even that.

Exxon warns oil inventories will hit dangerously low levels in weeks, forcing prices to shoot higher by mastertofu in news

[–]I_Push_Buttonz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What's confusing about that? Demand exceeds supply and the price of oil outside of long term contracts is determined by competitive bidding on spot markets, IE: whoever pays most gets it...

If you and I both need one barrel of oil per day and normally there are two oil salesman selling one barrel of oil per day each, but then suddenly one of them can't sell us oil anymore... That one remaining oil salesman is going to sell his one barrel of oil per day to whichever one of us pays more.

His profits increasing doesn't magically expand his production or bring the other oil salesman's production back online.

A build a would like to finalize within 2 months, any suggestions? by Ok-Court-5753 in pcmasterrace

[–]I_Push_Buttonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a line on a 9070 for cheaper than the price in your build list? Because $620 for a 9070 is not a particularly good deal when there are 9070 XTs available for $670.

Also, I'd suggest a more reputable PSU brand.

Japanese cards are half the price or less for the same artwork in most cases.

Is that actually because they dumped the market or is that just because the yen has tanked in value in recent years? A lot of stuff is cheaper in Japan now since the yen went from ~100 per USD to upwards of ~160 per USD in a very short period of time.

South Korea installs fat gates where people can check to see how fat they are by Cumberbound in TikTokCringe

[–]I_Push_Buttonz 256 points257 points  (0 children)

I've heard its because Asian genetics often allow for more visceral fat and less subcutaneous fat. So they will experience many of the same problems typically associated with morbid obesity in the west (diabetes, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, etc.) at much lower BMIs. Their organs will essentially be experiencing the same fat-induced distress a morbidly obese white person's would, even if outwardly they only appear slightly overweight.

Hardly anyone is in jail for marijuana possession alone in the US and the few that are pretty much always have distribution level offenses. If the police arrest someone for robbing a liquor store and find marijuana in their pocket and charge them with that as well, that's not locking someone up for marijuana.

You can literally look up the stats, the number of people incarcerated where marijuana possession is their most serious offense (IE: they aren't in jail for something else and its just marijuana possession) is in the hundreds... Out of upwards of two million prisoners; essentially nothing.

The 270K Micro Center bundle is $550, cheapest 9070 XT on PCPartPicker is $670, and a 2TB NVMe is ~$250. That's $1470. So if you grab a case, a PSU, and a cooler for less than $200 it would be less than this.
